About the Role

Voltus is building its Revenue Operations function from the ground up, and this role owns that build.

As we enter a hyper-growth phase, the components of revenue operations exist in pieces across the company: reporting handled by one team, forecasting by another, productivity tracked separately within Sales. What's missing is a single owner connecting the full customer journey, from outreach through close through renewal, into one trustworthy source of truth that Sales, Finance, Energy Markets, and our Customer Org can all rely on.

This role differs from a typical RevOps seat in one key way: Voltus doesn't invoice customers directly for fixed contract value. Revenue depends on whether enrolled customers are nominated, enrolled, and actually perform in market events. As a result, forecasting and reporting here means connecting committed contract value to realized, performance-based revenue, a more complex and consequential problem than most revenue operations roles are built to solve.

This role reports to our Senior Director of Sales Enablement, sits within the Sales organization, and carries the mandate to influence how the broader company understands and acts on revenue data.

What You'll Own (Initial Focus)

  • Full Lifecycle Reporting & Visibility Build the single source of truth for revenue data across the full customer journey — outreach, pipeline, close, onboarding, and renewal — so leadership, Sales, Finance, and the Customer Org are finally looking at the same numbers Own forecasting and reporting that connects committed contract value through enrollment and market performance to realized revenue, partnering closely with Energy Markets and Finance to flag risk before it hits the P&L Move the company from ad hoc, reactive reporting to proactive, standardized insight — surfacing risks and opportunities before leadership has to ask
  • CRM & Systems Ownership Own CRM pipeline hygiene — stage definitions, probability methodology, and data-quality standards — and hold the team accountable to consistent, trustworthy data Lead the GTM systems roadmap (CRM, forecasting, BI tools) in partnership with IT/Systems

  • Forecasting & Analytics Own accurate revenue forecasting and pipeline analytics, presenting directly to sales and executive leadership Define and track core RevOps KPIs: win rate, sales cycle length, rep ramp time, pipeline coverage, renewal and expansion rate

Areas to Expand Into

  • As you build out the function and prove out the infrastructure above, this role will grow into: Team leadership — building and mentoring a team spanning sales productivity, analytics, and operations Planning infrastructure — headcount modeling, territory design, capacity planning, and quota/comp design as new markets come online Customer health scoring — a shared, proactive view of at-risk and expansion-ready accounts across Sales, Customer Success, and Energy Markets

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years in revenue operations, with 3-5 years at manager/director level or above — someone who has owned the function, not just supported it
  • A track record of building revenue reporting infrastructure from scratch, and getting multiple stakeholders to actually trust and use it
  • Real financial fluency — you've closed the gap between sales and finance forecasting before
  • Experience scaling a company through a real growth inflection
  • A genuine B2B, commercial sales-cycle background
  • Comfortable presenting to executive leadership and holding your own when they push back

Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).

Additionally, while Voltus is an all-remote workplace, we have limitations on where employees are able to work for regulatory and security reasons. We expect that Voltans are working primarily from their home country. Working while traveling to other countries must be approved as per our Global Remote Travel Policy.

At Voltus, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer because we recognize that a diverse organization begins with a diverse candidate pool. This means we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind and are committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of your gender identity, race, nationality, religion, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability status, or marital status.
