As Chowbus continues to expand its product portfolio, customer base, and sales organization, we are looking for a Director of Sales Strategy to help shape and execute the company’s next stage of growth.

This is a highly strategic, cross-functional role serving as a strategic partner to Sales and senior leadership. The role focuses on identifying growth opportunities, analyzing market and customer data, shaping sales and commercial strategy, and providing data-driven recommendations across product, pricing, partnerships, and go-to-market decisions.

What You'll Focus OnSales Strategy & Growth
  • Develop and execute Chowbus’ Sales and Commercial Strategy in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Translate company goals into strategic priorities, business plans, and actionable initiatives.

  • Partner with Sales Leadership to translate strategy into clear sales priorities and execution plans.
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
  • Evaluate third-party products, platforms, and partnerships to identify opportunities that can accelerate revenue growth and improve customer value.
  • Assess which products, services, customer segments, and partnerships should be prioritized based on market potential, customer demand, and revenue impact.
Product Growth & Pricing
  • Identify product and feature opportunities based on customer needs, sales feedback, market trends, competitive intelligence, and revenue potential.
  • Evaluate whether existing products, features, packaging, and pricing should be adjusted to better address market demand.
  • Develop data-driven recommendations on pricing, packaging, product priorities, and commercialization strategy.
  • Partner with Product and Sales leadership to translate market insights into product and pricing decisions.
  • Assess the revenue impact and business case of new products, features, and commercial initiatives.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities.
  • Analyze competitors across restaurant technology, POS, payments, SaaS, and related markets.
  • Research third-party products and solutions to assess customer value, market relevance, and commercial potential.
  • Conduct customer and merchant research to validate strategic assumptions and identify opportunities.
  • Translate market insights into actionable recommendations for Sales, Product, and leadership.
  • Build a continuous market intelligence function to track rapidly changing customer needs, competitive dynamics, third-party solutions, pricing, and market trends.
  • Consolidate and validate information from Sales, City Managers, customers, external partners, and other market sources to develop a reliable view of market conditions.
  • Turn fragmented and sometimes incomplete market data into clear strategic insights and recommendations for leadership.
  • Spend approximately 20% of your time in the market engaging with merchants, customers, sales teams, and industry stakeholders — conducting market visits and customer discovery to develop firsthand insights, and working directly with Sales to understand market challenges and validate strategic recommendations.
Cross-Functional Strategy & Leadership
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, Operations, Finance, and external partners to align strategic priorities.
  • Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority and drive alignment around strategic recommendations.
  • Lead clear, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and help translate strategy into organizational priorities.
What You Bring
  • 6+ years of experience in Sales Strategy, Commercial Strategy, Business Strategy, Growth Strategy, Management Consulting, or a related strategic function, preferably within a high-growth technology or SaaS company.
  • Proven experience developing strategies that drive revenue growth, product growth, market expansion, or sales effectiveness.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to connect product, pricing, market, sales, and revenue.
  • Experience with pricing, product commercialization, or go-to-market strategy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex business problems into clear recommendations.
  • Experience in SaaS, POS, payments, restaurant technology, marketplace, or other B2B technology businesses is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales and complex products or customer segments.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently frame ambiguous business problems, analyze incomplete or complex data, develop strategic recommendations, and influence senior stakeholders to act on those recommendations.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in both strategic and hands-on environments.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 5-7 days per month for market visits, customer meetings, competitive research, partner meetings, and strategic initiatives.
  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required.
