Role status: Exempt

Compensation: Our target hiring range is $205,000-$250,000 plus participation in our Annual Bonus Program with eligibility for $12,000 bonus. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.

Campminder’s Flexible Working Location: Our employees have the option to work 100% remotely within the United States or their choice of days at home and at our office in Boulder, Colorado. This role’s mission & overview:
We are looking for a director of engineering for our Platform organization at CampCo. This director will own a critical strategic area of our engineering organization, tasked with creating a camp experience platform that will support multiple different youth experience products, as well as external customers. They will also own the Data team, which is responsible for consolidating and modernizing data and reporting for all CampCo products, and building industry-leading AI-powered data insights and reporting for our customers. Lastly, they will own the AI engineering and DevOps teams, which are tasked with migrating our development, testing, and deployment infrastructure to the latest best practices designed to support a fully agentic development flow.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for someone who thrives on leading teams that are solving hard architectural and platform problems, leading our company into the future on AI, platform, and infrastructure best practices.

As a Director of Engineering for our Platform organization, you will:

  • Lead CampCo Platform engineering organization, which includes the the Camp Experience Platform, Data, AI Platform, DevOps, IT, and Security teams
  • Lead the creation of a Camp Experience Platform, to be used by customers directly, by CampCo products internally, and by future youth experience products
  • Lead the creation of an AI platform for both internal and external customers
  • Enable AI adoption across all of CampCo
  • Transform our platform and DevOps practices to support a fully scaled agentic development workflow
  • Set high standards for the performance of your teams, in terms of technical, operational, AI utilization, process, project management, and people management best practices
  • Reinforce best practices on your teams with active coaching, iterative improvements, and metrics-driven measurements of results
  • Partner with your product and design counterparts to define the product roadmap for your organization, balancing external and internal customer needs

  • Experience leading high-performing, highly engaged engineering teams in growth environments, while maintaining strong engineering best practices and high quality
  • Experience leading teams that are building and maintaining platform features that serve internal developers and external customers
  • Experience leading teams that have significantly improved engineering org velocity through tooling, process, and culture changes
  • Experience leading teams that are responsible for DevOps and security
  • Experience transitioning teams to agentic coding and harness engineering, resulting in significant velocity gains
  • Strong Agile and project management skills, with a proven track record of continuously improving technology, systems, and processes in your organizations
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical trade-offs into clear business impact for stakeholders and leaders across the organization
  • Excellent coaching and mentorship skills; ability to grow engineers and managers
  • Growth-oriented mindset, with a desire to constantly learn and improve, and constantly improve their team
