Vantor is seeking a Director of DevOps & Infrastructure to lead the modernization, standardization, and operational reliability of the platforms powering our mission systems and customer deployments.
This leader will own DevOps, cloud infrastructure, SRE, release engineering, and platform operations across commercial, sovereign, and customer-managed environments.
The ideal candidate is both an architect and an operator — someone who can scale cloud and on-prem deployment platforms while building the engineering rigor, automation, and accountability needed to reduce operational chaos and improve delivery reliability.
You will help define Vantor’s long-term platform engineering strategy, balancing centralized shared services with embedded domain support teams.
This role reports directly to the VP of Mission Platforms & Infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud operations
5+ years leading engineering teams or technical organizations
Experience designing and operating Kubernetes-based cloud or hybrid infrastructure platforms
Strong background in AWS, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and deployment orchestration
Experience architecting both cloud and on-prem deployment environments
Proven success modernizing fragmented DevOps or platform engineering ecosystems
Strong understanding of distributed systems, operational resiliency, observability, and release engineering
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting defense, aerospace, intelligence, or mission-critical operational systems
Experience with sovereign cloud, disconnected operations, or customer-managed deployments
Experience implementing AI-assisted DevOps, AIOps, or autonomous operational tooling
Experience defining centralized vs distributed platform engineering operating models
Familiarity with geospatial intelligence, satellite operations, or mission planning systems
Background from organizations such as Palantir, defense primes, or cloud-native platform companies
Familiarity with Zero Trust and modern DevSecOps practices
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.
● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $164,000.00 - $218,000.00 - $239,800.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
