Mid-Level

About MC&I

Mission Critical & Industrials (MC&I) is a growing consulting and engineering arm of NEI focused on the design and delivery of complex electrical infrastructure for demanding environments, including data centers, oil & gas operations and large-scale commercial and industrial facilities. MC&I supports high-impact infrastructure projects for clients, some of whom rank in the top ten of their respective industry segments across North America. The group combines the momentum of a team that is actively building with the stability of an established firm with more than 40 years of industry presence and over 300 engineers. Engineers remain engaged across the full project lifecycle, from early concept and planning through detailed design and execution support. The work emphasizes sound judgment, strong client relationships, and practical business thinking. MC&I offers an environment where engineers can contribute ideas, build lasting professional relationships, and help shape a long-term legacy of engineering excellence.

About the Position

The Development Engineer role is a key technical position within MC&I for experienced engineers supporting early-stage project development, feasibility, and preliminary design (0–30%). In this role, you will apply sound engineering judgment, coordinate across electrical, civil, and structural disciplines, and serve as a technical liaison between internal design teams, business development partners, and external stakeholders. The role balances hands-on engineering analysis with cross-functional collaboration, proposal support, and client-facing technical communication. The Development Engineer owns assigned development scopes, ensures adherence to QA/QC standards and supports the development and maintenance of performance analysis tools used during development. As MC&I continues to grow, this role offers opportunities to expand technical depth, client exposure, and business responsibility based on performance and business needs.
