Job overview

The Demand Planner owns Glo's demand and supply plan, from forecast to purchase recommendation. The role decides what to buy, how much, and when, for both finished goods and components, and sets inventory levels across every fulfillment location so the business stays in stock without tying up excess cash or carrying expiring product.

Essential duties and responsibilitiesDemand planning and forecasting
  • Build and maintain a rolling SKU-level forecast by channel: DTC, Professional, Amazon, and international.

  • Incorporate promotions, seasonality, new product launches, and discontinuations, partnering with Marketing, eCommerce, and the product launch owner on launch volumes.

  • Track forecast accuracy and bias, and refine the forecast based on results.

Supply planning
  • Translate the forecast into a finished-goods supply plan, accounting for lead times, MOQs, and cash.

  • Determine component requirements from the finished-goods plan and bills of materials, so finished goods and components come from one plan.

  • Deliver PO recommendations for finished goods and components to Logistics & Purchasing, with quantities and required dates.

  • Set build quantities for seasonal and promotional kits.

Inventory management
  • Set and maintain inventory targets, safety stock, and reorder points across Stord, Amazon FBA, and co-manufacturers.

  • Plan allocation across locations, including Amazon FBA replenishment.

  • Monitor lot expiry, flag aging and excess inventory, and recommend sell-through or liquidation actions.

  • Report inventory health: weeks of supply, turns, stockout risk, and excess and obsolete inventory.

S&OP support
  • Prepare demand and supply inputs and scenarios for the monthly S&OP review

  • Provide the forecast inputs the 3PL Manager uses for the monthly Stord volume forecast.

Required skills and experience
  • Planning experience: [X] years in demand or supply planning for consumer products; beauty or CPG with lot and expiry tracking preferred; e-commerce and Amazon experience a plus.

  • Analytical skills: Advanced Excel or Google Sheets, working knowledge of forecasting methods, and experience with ERP data and bills of materials (SAND or similar).

  • Inventory strategy: Experience setting safety stock and reorder policies and managing inventory across multiple locations.

  • Cross-functional communication: Works well with Marketing, eCommerce, Finance, and Operations, and can explain the plan and its trade-offs clearly.

  • Prioritization: Keeps the forecast and plan current while responding to day-to-day supply changes.

  • Mobility & Physical Effort: Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift and move light office supplies, product samples, or kit components weighing up to 15–20 lbs on occasion.

  • Environment & Travel: Primary work environment is a standard office / hybrid setting. Minimal travel may be required for on-site inventory audits, 3PL/warehouse visits, or team strategy sessions.
