Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Data Scientist to join our team and help deliver mission-critical data capabilities for U.S. Government and defense organizations. In this role, you will support the development, deployment, and sustainment of operational data products that help mission partners make informed decisions and execute critical workflows. You will work directly with technical teams and operational users to understand mission needs, integrate and structure complex data, develop user-facing tools, and deliver practical capabilities that users can adopt quickly and sustain over time.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Work directly with government technical teams and operational users to identify mission challenges, clarify requirements, and translate operational needs into effective data products.

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and sustain data pipelines, analytical workflows, and user-facing applications.

  • Ingest, clean, transform, and model structured and unstructured data from inconsistent or fragmented source systems using Python, SQL, and related technologies.

  • Develop structured data models, ontologies, and analytical datasets that support repeatable reporting, decision-making, and operational workflows.

  • Build and configure dashboards, applications, and other user-facing tools that enable nontechnical users to interact with data and execute mission workflows.

  • Develop and deploy solutions using Palantir Foundry and other approved data, analytics, and application-development platforms.

  • Support the full software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, integration, testing, deployment, user onboarding, documentation, and sustainment.

  • Apply version control, automated testing, documentation, and sound engineering practices to ensure solutions are secure, maintainable, scalable, and transferable across the team.

  • Collaborate with technical and operational stakeholders to evaluate user feedback, prioritize enhancements, and continuously improve delivered capabilities.

Required Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must have an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Information Systems, or another quantitative or technical discipline, along with 7+ years of related experience. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience building and delivering data products, software applications, analytical tools, or related technical capabilities.

  • Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, C++, or a similar programming language, with the ability to select and apply the right tools for the problem.

  • Experience independently delivering user-facing technical products from requirements definition through deployment and sustainment.

  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, including identifying and resolving data-quality, integration, and consistency issues.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with government customers, technical teams, and operational users.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience with Palantir Foundry, including data pipelines, Ontology development, Workshop applications, or related platform capabilities.

  • Experience supporting Department of War or other U.S. Government data, software, or operational-support programs.

Experience with cloud-based data platforms, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or infrastructure automation.

  • Experience applying data science, analytics, or software-engineering methods in operational, defense, or other mission-critical environments.

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Information Systems, or another quantitative or technical discipline.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
