Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, support product and regulatory matters, research laws, assist with licensing and disputes, maintain corporate records, and improve legal processes using AI and technology. Flex is building the AI-native private bank for business owners.

We’re re-architecting the entire financial system for entrepreneurs—from the first dollar a business earns to how that value compounds, moves, and is ultimately spent in real life. Banking, credit, payments, personal finance, and financial operations—rebuilt from the ground up as a single, intelligent system. Flex is the full financial home for ambitious owners.

Since launching publicly in September 2023, Flex has scaled from zero to nine-figure annualized revenue, with a clear path to profitability by late 2026. We move fast, ship relentlessly, and operate with extreme ownership.

Our customers are affluent business owners ($3–$200M in revenue)—the backbone of the economy and one of the most underserved segments in finance. They’re stuck with outdated banks and fragmented tools. We’re replacing all of it. The opportunity is massive: a ~$1T+ revenue market hiding in plain sight. Our ambition is to build a $100B+ company by delivering a product that is fundamentally better—not incrementally improved.

Flex has raised $100M+ in equity and $300M+ in debt.

- Mission-critical problems: We build software that directly controls how money moves at scale.
- High bar, low ego: Small teams, exceptional people, real ownership.
- Speed over comfort: We prioritize execution, quality, clarity, and results.
- Enduring impact: What we’re building will define how a generation of owners runs their businesses.

Team & Locations

We hire exceptional people who want to build hard things and see their work matter immediately. Roles are available in: San Francisco, Miami, New York, and fully remote.

Flex Fuels Ambition.

What You'll Do

    • Draft, review, and revise commercial agreements, including NDAs, vendor agreements, customer contracts, and other day-to-day agreements across the business.

    • Support contract negotiations by preparing drafts and redlines, researching issues, and working with senior members of the Legal team to resolve open points.

    • Assist with product and regulatory matters, including researching legal requirements, reviewing product materials and disclosures, and helping prepare terms, policies, notices, and other customer-facing materials.

    • Research federal and state laws and regulations affecting Flex and help turn that research into clear, practical guidance for the Legal & Compliance team and our business partners.

    • Support regulatory and licensing work, including preparing filings, gathering information, maintaining records, and helping respond to requests from regulators, banks, and other partners.

    • Assist with disputes, litigation, collections, and recovery matters, including researching claims, organizing records, preparing correspondence, and coordinating with internal teams and outside counsel.

    • Help maintain Flex's corporate records and support governance and other general corporate matters.

    • Work directly with teams across Flex to gather facts, understand business needs, and help the Legal team respond quickly and effectively.

    • Help build and improve the templates, playbooks, processes, and tools we use to make the Legal function more efficient.

    • Use AI and other technology as part of your everyday practice, and help us find new ways to automate routine legal work and make the entire team better.

What Makes You A Great Fit

    • You're smart, curious, and eager to learn. You don't need to know everything yet - we don't expect you to. But you want to understand why things work the way they do, and you're willing to dig until they make sense.

    • You take pride in your work. Details matter to you. You proofread. You check your work. And you don't consider something finished just because you've reached the bottom of the page.

    • You're comfortable asking questions. You know there's a difference between figuring something out and guessing, and you're not afraid to ask for guidance when you need it.

    • You learn quickly. You take feedback well, apply it the next time, and want your second attempt at something to be noticeably better than your first.

    • You're a strong writer and clear thinker. You can research an unfamiliar issue, identify what matters, and explain what you've found without burying the answer.

    • You're organized and dependable. If you're given an assignment, you keep track of it, communicate about it, and get it done.

    • You want to understand the business. You're interested in more than the legal answer. You want to understand what Flex is building, how our products work, and why the question matters in the first place.

    • You're willing to do the work. No assignment is beneath you, and you understand that becoming a great lawyer means getting the fundamentals right before anything else.

    • You're comfortable with change. Priorities move quickly at a startup, new questions come up constantly, and you won't always have a form, precedent, or perfectly defined assignment waiting for you.

    • You want responsibility and are ready to earn it. We'll give you meaningful work, support, and opportunities to grow. What you do with those opportunities is up to you.

What We're Looking For

    • J.D. from an accredited law school and an active bar license, or eligibility to become admitted promptly.

    • 0–2 years of legal experience. Law firm, in-house, government, judicial clerkship, and other relevant legal experience will all be considered.

    • Strong academic, legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

    • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, thoughtful work.

    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

    • Good judgment, including knowing when to work through an issue independently and when to ask for help.

    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with lawyers and non-lawyers across the company.

    • An interest in contracts and commercial work and a desire to develop strong drafting and negotiation skills.

    • An interest in fintech, financial services, technology, or startups. Prior experience in these areas is helpful, but not required.

    • Curiosity about AI and a willingness to learn how to use it responsibly to research, draft, analyze, and work more efficiently.

    • A willingness to take on a broad range of assignments and learn different areas of an in-house legal practice.

    • Genuine excitement about Flex and the opportunity to grow as a lawyer while helping us build the company.
