Position Summary:
The Claims & Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in workplace safety and ensuring effective management of workers’ compensation claims. This position is responsible for supporting the organization’s safety programs and managing the claims process related to workers’ compensation. This role ensures regulatory compliance, facilitates incident investigations, supports safety training efforts, and liaises with insurance providers to ensure timely resolution of claims.

Key Responsibilities:

Claims Management

  • Manage each workers’ compensation claims through the entire process.
  • Input claims into the insurance system for provider review.
  • Coordinate with medical care providers, managers, and employees to ensure compliance with work restrictions and facilitate return-to-work programs.
  • Monitor open claims, follow up on medical treatment status, and support return-to-work programs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential claims files and documentation.
  • Analyze claims trends and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Gather witness statements, photos, and documentation to support claims.
  • Recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Safety Program Support

· Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of workplace safety programs and procedures.

· Participate in the investigation of all workplace accidents and near-miss incidents.

· Support the Safety Manager in performing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections in compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and county regulations.

· Conduct or coordinate safety audits, inspections, and job hazard analyses.

· Track and report safety metrics and incidents (e.g., near-misses, lost-time accidents).

· Help ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.

· Maintain, stock and track all first aid supplies and minor injury kits.

· Assist in researching and procuring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

· Serve as Co-Chair of the Safety Committee.

· Support the facilitation of in-person safety training across various shifts.

Administrative and Compliance Tasks

· Maintain safety and claims records, logs, and reports (e.g., OSHA 300 logs).

· Support preparation for audits and inspections by OSHA or insurance carriers.

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or equivalent required
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in workers’ compensation claims coordination, risk management, or workplace safety.
  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, OSHA regulations, and safety best practices.
  • Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Bilingual Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Capable of working well with cross-functional teams in a dynamic setting to achieve company goals.
  • Works well in high pressure situations to meet company deadlines.
  • Maintain regular, consistent attendance & punctuality. Must have a flexible schedule that may require occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be flexible to reassignment within the North Denver area

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

  • There is exposure to extreme temperatures (cold and hot).
  • There is exposure to dust and food allergens.
  • Personal protective Equipment is available upon request but is not required for this position.
  • Lifting 10 -20 pounds frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • All machines are equipped with Protective guards. All safety protocols and GMP’s must be followed.

Reports to: Director of HR & Safety Manager Location: On-site – Louisville & Thornton CO Compensation is based on the level of experience, other relevant experience, and requirements of the position. The range provided serves only as a guideline and does not automatically qualify all candidates (internal or external) for the high end of the range.$25.00 to $35.00 Per Hour
