As a Business Development Representative, you'll manage the sales pipeline, research prospects, engage with customers, and support the team with administrative tasks while using a consultative sales approach.

We are looking for a Business Development Representative focused on the AMER market who is passionate about Cloud and AI sales and can support the expansion of DigitalOcean’s current customer base and drive the acquisition of new customers.

The Business Development Representative is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager of Business Development based in Germany and will be based in the US.
In this position you will play a critical role in identifying sales opportunities from our customer base and qualify and convert inbound requests to drive the acquisition of new customers.
You will work closely with the sales, marketing, and partnership teams to ensure seamless transition of opportunities once qualified. Like any high performing team, you will be measured by results, in this case the volume and quality of your opportunity identification, tracked through workload deployment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Managing a high volume of daily inbound leads from a variety of marketing sources.
  • Setting up qualified meetings and generating qualified opportunities for the Sales Team.
  • Collaborating with the sales, marketing and partnership teams on campaigns to drive qualified pipeline creation. 
  • Engaging with current customers and potential ones in a personalized approach.
  • Identify new business or upsell and cross-sell opportunities through discovery calls.
  • Articulating DigitalOcean’s value proposition to drive new or expansion opportunities. 

What you have: 

  • You are self-driven, highly motivated and are able to work remotely and independently. 
  • You are open minded and open to feedback and coaching to improve your performance. 
  • Experience as B2B BDR and managing inbound leads in a global company. 
  • Experience working with customers outside of the AMER region.
  • Exemplary email, phone and social selling skills with the ability to quickly assess customer opportunities.
  • Ability to clearly understand and articulate complex technical concepts in a simple manner. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to prioritize work according to the needs of the business.
  • You will be responsible for accurately tracking prospect interactions and information in our CRM.

A big advantage if you have: 

  • Previous experience in IaaS, PaaS or AI/ML companies.
  • Experience with SFDC, Groove/Salesloft/Outreach, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn SalesNavigator. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (strongly preferred).

  • We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $40,700 - $61,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
