Business Development Manager
Position summary
Solutions Metrix is hiring a Business Development Manager to build and run our account-based growth strategy in financial services. You will research priority banks and credit unions, reach the right decision-makers, and turn their needs and transformation plans into qualified opportunities for our CRM, integration, data, and business transformation services.
This is not a high-volume sales development role. Success means creating access, intelligence, engagement, and qualified pipeline in the accounts we most want to serve. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Client Partnerships, executive leadership, and our technology partners.
What you'll do
Research target accounts
- Learn each assigned account's leadership, technology environment, priorities, and active initiatives.
- Watch for engagement triggers: executive changes, mergers, technology conversions, modernization, and customer or member experience programs.
Map stakeholders and build relationships
- Identify executives and influencers across technology, operations, digital, member experience, data, and marketing.
- Use existing company, employee, advisor, client, and partner connections for introductions.
Prospect and develop accounts
- Run personalized, sustained outreach by phone, email, LinkedIn, events, and referrals, tailored to each person's role and institution.
Work with technology partners
- Work with Creatio, Boomi, and other partners to find shared target accounts, warm introductions, and joint pursuits, and track partner-supported activity.
Run discovery and hand off
- Hold first conversations to understand challenges and current state, and spot needs in CRM, integration, data, workflow automation, member experience, and modernization.
How success is measured
We measure account development and pipeline, not activity alone:
- Priority accounts engaged, new stakeholders identified, and multi-threaded relationships built
- Qualified discovery conversations and conference meetings with priority accounts
- Engaged accounts converted into qualified sales opportunities, and pipeline created
- Partner-assisted introductions and opportunities
- Quality and completeness of account intelligence in the CRM
What we're looking for
Required
- 3 to 5+ years in business development, account development, enterprise sales, fintech, financial services, consulting, enterprise software, or a related field
- Skill at researching organizations and finding the right decision-makers and influencers
- Strong written and verbal communication, credible with senior business and technology leaders
- Comfort starting relationships by phone, email, LinkedIn, events, and referrals
- Experience with CRM and sales or business development tools
Nice to have
- Experience with banks, credit unions, fintechs, or financial services technology providers
- Familiarity with core banking, CRM, integration, data, digital banking, or workflow automation platforms
- Account-based marketing, named-account sales, or strategic account development experience
- Relationships with executive-level buyers
Who thrives here
You want to understand how organizations work and where their real problems are. You turn public information into useful intelligence and talk about business issues, not just products. You are persistent without being repetitive and credible with senior leaders at banks and credit unions.
You also work well with Sales, Marketing, consultants, leadership, and partners, stay organized across many accounts, and own outcomes. A growing company with an evolving go-to-market suits you.
Where the role fits
The role sits in Revenue Operations and connects market development to active sales. The goal is more than booking meetings. You help Solutions Metrix Identify → Understand → Surround → Engage → Convert → Expand priority accounts, so our sales and consulting teams start conversations with more context, more credibility, and a better chance of winning.
