Job DescriptionPosition Summary:

Tenure-track Assistant Professors are expected to conduct research leading to scholarly publications in leading academic journals; teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses; and provide service to the College, University, and profession (service expectations are commensurate with rank). The role will demonstrate a commitment to CSU’s mission through research, teaching, and service.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Conduct and publish research and contribute to scholarly advancement in the field.
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in organizational behavior and/or human resource management, including course and curriculum development.
  • Provide service to the department, university, profession, and community in support of CSU’s mission.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervision:
  • Potential supervision of student employee(s) <0.5 FTE.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, or a related field. ABD candidates will be considered with sufficient evidence that the doctorate degree will be completed before August 15, 2027.
  • An established record of publishing research in top-tier, peer reviewed, academic journals, or a demonstrated potential to do so.
  • The ability to conduct research with colleagues; effectively teach courses in organizational behavior and/or human resource management; and provide service commensurate with rank.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • In addition to required qualifications, preferred candidates will have:
    • An impactful research program that emphasizes organizational behavior and/or human resource management aligned with our College’s vision of positive societal impact;
    • Evidence of teaching effectiveness in organizational behavior (e.g., leadership, teams, negotiation) and/or human resource management courses (e.g., strategic human resource management, data analytics); and
    • The ability to work effectively in a Department that places significant emphasis on interdisciplinary interaction and integration.
  • Candidates are expected to have an expressed commitment to the College’s mission, vision, and values.

Salary Range$163,000 - $183,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications
