Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. The Direct To Customer (DTC) team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining integrations with a wide range of strategic partners, including Disney, Amazon, Peacock, Paramount, Max, and others. The team develops and supports scalable backend services that power customer entitlement, authentication, account linking, subscription lifecycle management, and partner data exchanges. This is a backend engineering team with a strong focus on hands-on software development. Engineers work extensively with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, cloud technologies, messaging platforms such as Kafka, and AWS services. The team is involved throughout the software development lifecycle, from designing and implementing new features to troubleshooting production issues, optimizing performance, and driving architectural improvements. We are looking for technically strong candidates who are passionate about backend development, have solid problem-solving skills, and enjoy building scalable, high-performance distributed systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable writing production-quality code, collaborating across teams, and contributing to technical design discussions while delivering reliable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Required qualifications
- Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor's degree
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
- Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
