Welltok pulls in $33.7M Series E
Denver healthtech company Welltok pulled in a substantial round of funding today, announcing the closure of a $33.7 million Series E with an additional debt facility allowing for $13 million in expanded borrowing capacity. Prime Health Challenge competitors announced
Earlier this week, Prime Health announced the competitors for this year’s Prime Health Challenge. The challenge gives digital health companies the chance to pitch their solutions for a shot at $150,000. TOMR2 Development, dBMEDx, Matrix Analytics, MSC, Preventative Technology Solutions Quantant Share will go before Prime Health’s panel of judges on Oct. 19. [InnovatioNews]
Boulder's Flytedesk wins Steve Case-hosted pitch competition
Boulder-based adtech startup Flytedesk brought home $100,000 this week after winning the Rise of the Rest pitch competition. The company, which got its start in 2012, works by connecting advertisers with 18 to 24-year-olds, specifically on college campuses. Rise of the Rest seeks to highlight cities where entrepreneurship isn't typically celebrated. As part of their efforts, AOL founder Steve Case and his team have organized pitch competitions in five cities across the U.S., where they will invest a total of $500,000 in each competition's winner. Colorado’s tech investments have major impacts
A new piece in StateTech Magazine details how, when states invest in technology, the economy grows. The piece focuses on investments made in Colorado and Virginia. In 2015, Colorado’s tech economy added more than 6,500 jobs — and the state’s total tech jobs contributed to $19.9 billion in wages, or 11.5 percent of the state’s overall economic output. Galvanize opens new Boulder campus
After spending the last few years on Boulder’s Pearl Street, Galvanize has moved their campus just one block south. The company opened their latest location this week in the PearlWest complex, at 1023 Walnut St. The 26,000 square foot campus will bring the company’s Gather cafes to the city, welcoming the public to the campus. The existing campus’ coworking and educational functions will move over to the new space, with updated organization and technology serving to boost member and student experiences. [Blog post]
