The Colorado tech scene is welcoming several new unicorns after last week’s funding announcements. Find out which companies are growing and which of them are hiring. This is the Built In Colorado weekly refresh.

Matillion pulled in $150MBased in Denver and the United Kingdom, Matillion works to help companies leverage data from multiple cloud-based sources to improve their business operations. The company is a newly minted unicorn following its Series E round led by General Atlantic. Next for Matillion is building out its team. CesiumAstro is prepped for launchThe company develops active phased array systems that are made to be faster and more efficient than fixed satellite beams. Planning for the commencement of its Cesium Mission 1, the company will showcase its satellite communication tech by launching into orbit by rocketship later this month. CesiumAstro is also growing its 80-person team and anticipates reaching a headcount of 200 by the end of 2022. [Built In Colorado]

JumpCloud got $159MAfter its Series F round led by Sapphire Ventures, the new unicorn is valued at $2.56 billion. Louisville-based JumpCloud offers enterprise IT teams a cloud-based directory platform that lets them connect employees with resources like systems and applications. Matchstick Ventures got $55MThe venture capital firm closed on its third fund to invest in early stage software startups near the Rockies and the Northern regions of the United States. To date, the firm has over 100 companies in its portfolio, and it plans to invest checks ranging from $500,000 to $1.5 million in new startups. It also announced the launch of its mentorship program Matchstick Strikers. [Matchstick Ventures]

Radial to make over 500 seasonal hiresSpecializing in providing brands with e-commerce solutions, the company announced its plans to hire more than 500 customer care agents in Pueblo for the holiday season. Associates will communicate with brands’ customers over several channels like phone and chat as they aim to keep satisfaction scores high. There will be three hiring events hosted by Adecco on September 22, September 29 and October 5. [Business Wire]

Melio secured $250MThe fintech company’s platform enables SMBs to receive payments from customers almost instantly. Its Series D funding round was led by Thrive Capital and brings the company’s valuation to $4 billion. The unicorn is planning to onboard 250 new staffers in Colorado, as well as expand through more partnerships with financial institutions, software providers and marketplaces. [Built In Colorado]

Red Rocks will feature Amazon techThe iconic amphitheater is slated to install palm-reading technology developed by Amazon, allowing concertgoers to use their palm to get into the venue’s shows and events. The technology will also become available at additional venues throughout the state in the coming months. [New York Post]
