Outrider expands into BrightonSpecializing in building autonomous yard truck logistics tech, Outrider opened a new testing facility located just north of Denver. The 200,000-square-foot space operates tests for the company’s software that can deploy multiple vehicles with one click. As Golden-based Outrider continues to grow, the company is also currently hiring to grow its 140-person team. [Built In Colorado]

Firebrand closed on its second fundThe Boulder-based VC firm invests in seed-stage tech startups across the United States and Canada. It closed on its $40 million fund, Firebrand Ventures II, and so far has invested in eight companies based in locations including Detroit, Seattle and Toronto. It also announced the addition of Leo Morton and Claire Hansen to its team as advisor and principal respectively. The firm is also opening an office in Austin. [Built In Colorado]

Gorilla Logic acquired Modernist StudioOperating a studio that helps companies envision and design multi-platform products, Modernist Studio is joining forces with Gorilla Logic, a Broomfield-based software development services company. ToolWatch hired a new CEOThe company provides businesses in the construction, utilities, and oil and gas industries with software to help with tool and equipment tracking and operations management. It appointed Jay Martin, formerly COO of EagleView, as its new chief executive officer.
