Tech unicorn Fivetran is growing its Denver presence. The Oakland, California-based startup helps businesses funnel data from several sources into a single cloud information warehouse. Built In caught up with Fivetran last June when the startup raised a $100 million Series C round. At the time, Fivetran had just received unicorn status with a $1.2 billion valuation and employed 40 people in Denver.

Now, the company has 105 employees in Denver and plans to scale to at least 160 by the end of the year, Taylor Brown, Fivetran’s COO and co-founder, recently told Built In via email. The company is actively hiring for 44 positions in the Mile High City ranging from data and analytics to designers, engineers and recruiters.

“Our mission is to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity, and what’s most exciting is to see how our customers are using such data to transform their businesses and impact lives,” Brown said. “At the same time, we will continue to make Fivetran a great place for employees to work and grow their careers — and our new Denver office expansion is another giant step in that direction.”

To accommodate this growth, Fivetran increased its office space from 16,000 square feet to 38,000 square feet, according to the Denver Business Journal. Even though Fivetran is upping its office space, Brown said the company will continue offering a “flexible work culture” where employees can work in the office or from home.

“With that said, there is something magic that happens when people connect and collaborate in person, and we are really excited to welcome our staff back to the office,” Brown added.

This news follows a year of “explosive” growth for the company. Last year, Fivetran doubled its revenue and customer base, and opened new offices in Germany, India, France and Australia, according to a February news release.

Founded in 2013, Fivetran’s platform integrates with more than 5,000 in-house data repositories, including Salesforce and Google Ads, and integrates and consolidates the information into storage units. Fivetran was also listed as the best place to work in Colorado, according to Built In’s 2021 100 Best Places to Work list.
