Developer-first customer identity and access management solutions provider FusionAuth announced the appointment of Brian Bell as CEO, succeeding founder Brian Pontarelli.

According to a company blog post, Bell brings over 20 years of leadership experience in identity security and software development, most recently serving as CEO of Split Software, where he led the company through its acquisition by Harness. He has also held leadership roles at Ping Identity and Zuora.

FusionAuth emphasizes flexibility with its hybrid deployment model, offering both cloud and self-hosted options. The company states its platform delivers superior scalability, security and testing capabilities, challenging the industry norm of restrictive, multi-tenant SaaS-only CIAM solutions.

“I’m excited to be joining FusionAuth at such a high-growth inflection point. This market is booming as companies race to deliver differentiated, secure digital experiences across web, mobile and AI-powered platforms … FusionAuth is uniquely positioned to lead this next era—and the market momentum we’re seeing is just the beginning,” Bell said in a statement.
