Position: Workday Payroll Consultant
Location: 100% Remote
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Part-time
Rate: Open (Depending on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Consultantwith strong expertise in payroll configuration and deployment to lead and support the end-to-end design, setup, testing, and go-live of Workday Payroll. This role will partner closely with HR, Finance, and technical teams to ensure accurate payroll processing, compliance with regulations, and seamless integration with other Workday modules and third-party systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the configuration, customization, and deployment of Workday Payroll to meet business requirements.
  • Gather and document payroll requirements and translate them into optimal system configurations.
  • Configure pay components, earnings, deductions, garnishments, tax setup, and payroll calculations in Workday.
  • Ensure all payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Integrate payroll with Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, and Accounting modules.
  • Manage parallel payroll runs to validate system accuracy prior to deployment.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll deployment activities, ensuring a smooth cutover to production.
  • Lead payroll-related unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll configuration and calculation issues.
  • Build and maintain payroll reports, dashboards, and analytics within Workday.
  • Provide training, knowledge transfer, and post-go-live support to payroll and HR teams.

Qualifications

  • Workday Payroll certification (current or expired) strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of Workday Payroll configuration and deployment experience.
  • Proven track record in implementing and rolling out payroll functionality in Workday.
  • Strong understanding of US payroll compliance, tax rules, and reporting requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with EIBs, calculated fields, payroll integrations, and advanced reporting.
  • Skilled in payroll testing, validation, and cutover planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
