Job Description: Workday Functional Consultant – Finance
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Workday Financials Functional Consultant to lead configuration, design validation, and deployment support for Workday Financial Management modules. This role will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and Grants teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead workshops for Financial Accounting, Procurement, Banking & Settlements, Grants, Assets, or Projects
• Support FDM design validation (company, cost center, fund, program, grant, spend category, worktags)
• Configure posting rules, validation rules, and budget checks
• Support integration design with banking, third-party systems, payroll
• Assist with data conversion and reconciliation
• Lead Configuration Unit Testing (CUT) and support end-to-end testing
• Ensure alignment of worktags across cross-functional modules
• Support reporting and financial statement validation
• Provide functional guidance on audit trails and internal controls
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years Workday Financials functional experience
• Strong understanding of:
• Foundational Data Model (FDM)
• Worktags & posting logic
• Business asset & spend category structure
• Budget configuration
• At least one full Workday Financials implementation
• Strong accounting/finance background
Preferred
• Experience with complex funding models
• Workday certification in Financials
