Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Crowe’s federal Tax Controversy and Resolutions group offers clients deep technical, high quality tax consulting on all aspects of federal tax controversy and dispute resolution. The Tax Controversy and Resolutions group is currently searching for a manager to focus on federal tax practice and procedure matters, including IRS notice resolution, information reporting and withholding, and IRS examinations and appeals.

Qualifications:

  • Active CPA or JD
  • Prior experience with the Internal Revenue Service and/or the IRS Office of Chief Counsel helpful, but not required.
  • At least 3 years of federal tax experience required; 4 or more years preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information and tax law.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.

Exceptional candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong tax technical and research skills in federal taxation, resulting in the production of exception written work products. Experience in federal tax practice and procedure is helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to identify value-added opportunities and work in a team environment to develop business.
  • Exhibit proven leadership and project management skills in managing client service teams and multiple projects in a fast-paced and interactive team environment to meet and exceed client expectations
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to mentor and develop staff and seniors, including on the job technical training and coaching
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
  • Personal drive to develop yourself and others and to provide leadership insight to the existing leadership team.
  • The ability to readily embrace technology-enabled tools and lead efforts to develop new ways to harness technology to meet the market, drive efficiency, and serve clients.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $83,000.00 - $197,500.00 per year.
