About Go Fish Digital At Go Fish, we’re not just a digital marketing agency—we’re a people-first organization. Our team is our competitive advantage, and we’re proud to cultivate a workplace where creativity, inclusion, and collaboration aren’t just encouraged but expected. We’re passionate about delivering results for our clients, but we know it starts by delivering for our people.

What You’ll Do As the Vice President of People Operations, you’ll set and execute the vision for a world-class employee experience. You’ll serve as a trusted strategic advisor to our executive team and a people-first champion across the organization. From designing scalable systems to enhance performance and growth, to fostering a resilient and values-driven culture, you’ll lead the charge in building the infrastructure and environment that helps every team member do their best work. You won’t just maintain culture—you’ll shape it.

This role combines high-level HR leadership with hands-on execution. You’ll own the full people lifecycle and ensure our talent strategy is aligned with our business strategy. You’ll lead with empathy, think like an operator, and act like a culture builder.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

  • People Strategy & Leadership: Define and lead the Go Fish people strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals. Partner closely with the executive team to drive organizational effectiveness and culture evolution.
  • Talent Development & Performance: Oversee performance management, leadership coaching, and growth frameworks that support internal mobility, personal development, and high performance.
  • Recruitment & Workforce Planning: Guide strategic hiring plans in collaboration with department leads. Build a pipeline of talent aligned with company needs and future growth.
  • Total Rewards: Oversee compensation strategy, employee benefits, and recognition programs that are competitive, equitable, and reflective of our values.
  • Culture & DEI: Serve as a key steward of company culture. Lead initiatives that foster belonging, psychological safety, and inclusion across every level of the company.
  • HR Infrastructure & Compliance: Build scalable systems, policies, and processes to support a growing hybrid workforce. Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and best practices in HR governance.
  • Employee Relations & Communication: Create trust and transparency across the company by providing sound guidance, mediation, and clear internal communications.

What You Bring to the Table

  • A proven track record as a senior HR or People leader, ideally in a fast-growing, digital or creative environment.
  • 8+ years of experience in human resources, with at least 3 years in a senior or executive-level role.
  • Expertise in organizational design, leadership development, DEI, and talent strategy.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A proactive, strategic thinker with a bias for action and a deep sense of empathy.
  • Ability to balance the big picture with hands-on execution in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Work Location

Our office is located in downtown Raleigh, NC. We offer a flexible, hybrid work schedule so that you can work from home, at a coffee shop, or meet with your team in person at our Raleigh office if you are local to Raleigh. We are open to remote work in the U.S. (preferably EST) for the right candidate.

Benefits & Culture

We offer excellent health care coverage (with a significant portion paid by the company), a flexible and trusting work culture, and generous time off. We expect you to bring big ideas and initiative, but we respect boundaries and support balance.

Go Fish is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Our community becomes more confident, creative, and productive when our team members can be authentic at work.

Guidelines for Your Application

What We Need: Alongside your resume, craft a one-page cover letter that gives us some perspective into your unique journey and passion for this role. Don’t forget to mention your salary expectations.

Handling Attachments: Some platforms can be tricky. If limited to one file, combine your resume and cover letter. Bonus points for work samples — links in CVs or resumes are good, too!

The Weight of the Cover Letter: It’s more than just a formality – it’s our first introduction to you. Make it count. Without it, your application won't be reviewed.

Note on ‘Quick Apply’: This feature can sometimes miss essential details. Ensure all our requirements are met — incomplete applications won't progress.

Adherence to these guidelines is paramount.

Missing out will cost you a spot in the process. And then, we all miss out. And that bums us out. Don't bum us out. We value attention to detail, and this is your chance to show that off.

We appreciate the effort you put into your application and look forward to getting to know you better!
