The VP Finance Consultant leads financial strategy, planning, and analysis for clients, ensuring stability, growth, and compliance through financial reporting.
Launch Finance is seeking a strategic and VP of Finance Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of our clients in various industries, focusing on startups and high-growth businesses. As the VP of Finance Consultant, you will lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting to drive data-driven decision-making and ensure financial stability and growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial statement preparation and monthly close processes for multiple clients.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance transparency and strengthen internal controls.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with client objectives and growth plans.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Manage audit processes and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Provide insights into financial performance and highlight opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
- Partner with C-level executives and other stakeholders to guide the financial decision-making process.
- Ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Monitor financial indicators and market trends to inform strategic planning.
- Lead and mentor finance and accounting teams, enhancing their capabilities in financial analysis and reporting.
- Engage with investors and stakeholders to communicate financial performance and strategy.
- A Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred. A Bachelor's degree with a focus on finance, accounting, or a related field is mandatory. Holding a CPA designation is advantageous.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in SaaS and technology (hardware/software) sectors is essential.
- Proven experience as a VP of Finance, Controller, or similar role in a startup or high-growth company.
- Deep understanding of GAAP accounting, financial planning, analysis, and reporting best practices.
- Proficiency in advanced financial modeling and analysis, along with a proven track record of constructing financial models in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience with fundraising and working with venture capital/private equity is highly desirable.
- Outstanding strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing finance teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while balancing strategic vision and execution.
