Your team

BlackRock’s Telecommunication Expense Management (TEM) team plays a key role in keeping our people and offices connected and our costs controlled. The TEM team accomplishes this through the oversight of all aspects of BlackRock’s telecommunications expenses including quoting, provisioning, inventory, and vendor management for Data, Voice, and Mobility services globally.

This team is part of BlackRock’s Technology & Operations organization, which is responsible for the end-to-end management of BlackRock's operating and technology platforms. This includes providing services that impact the product and trade lifecycle, as well as enhancing the client and employee experiences. Technology and Operations is dedicated to operational excellence and managing risk to uphold the integrity of our platform.

Your role and impact

The manager of the Telecom Expense Management team is responsible for data, voice, and mobility services, managing a budget exceeding $35 million. They handle invoice and expense management for all telecom vendors, ensuring timely payments to carriers and maintaining an accurate inventory of all services.

The manager collaborates with the Finance team to manage budget projections and adjustments throughout the fiscal year. They also partner with the Supplier Vendor Management team to negotiate contracts with all telecommunication carriers, including 37 global mobile carriers that require individual agreements.

Additionally, the manager oversees the partnership with Tangoe, our third-party Telecom Expense Management provider, ensuring they deliver their contractual services as negotiated and evaluating new Tangoe service offerings to leverage trends in the telecommunications space.

Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior management of TEM's key partners at BlackRock, including Networking, Unified Communications, Finance, SVM, Legal & Compliance, Mobile Engineering, Deskside, and Aladdin teams.
  • Serve as a primary contact for more than 100 telecommunication partners, addressing customer concerns related to critical issues.
  • Coordinate a distributed team of nine staff members situated in different locations, guiding them through day-to-day activities, projects, work distribution, objective setting, and career growth opportunities.
  • Serve as the Global Service Owner of Mobility Services.

You have

  • A minimum of 7+ years of managerial experience in the telecommunications field.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and managerial skills.
  • Skilled in operating within matrix structures, cultivating strong vendor partnerships, and communicating across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience with automation, AI, and Copilot for metric reporting is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to perform well under high-pressure situations.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and ability to meet assertive deadlines for the delivery of telecom services.


 


 

For Wilmington, DE Only the salary range for this position is USD$117,500.00 - USD$173,500.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
