RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies, manages risk appetite, and optimizes profitability for representations and warranties insurance products, while adhering to the highest standards of regulatory and ethical compliance.
- Create policy terms and conditions, pricing, policy structure, and make coverage recommendations.
- Champion underwriting excellence by establishing and enforcing robust risk appetite, standards and guidelines.
- Analyzes complex contracts, insurance policies and binder agreements, assesses potential liabilities, and identify hidden risks to inform underwriting decisions.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships to drive new business, secures profitable deals, and provide customized client solutions.
- Monitor changes in corporate, transactional and insurance laws and regulations to ensure compliance and adapt underwriting practices accordingly.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, conduct research of new sectors, and develop innovative coverage solutions to expand the book of business.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ year's underwriting transactional risks
- 3+ year's legal experience with a focus on M&A
- J.D. required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including negotiation skills.
- Self-driven, detail oriented, and strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization.
- Networking and relationship building skills.
- Sound business acumen combined with analytical, mathematical, reasoning, computer, and customer management skills.
- Contract review knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Travel will be required from time to time for conferences, broker meetings, and team meetings.
LOCATION
This is a remote position.
COMPENSATION & PERKS
- $150,000 - $250,000 base salary plus bonus. Salary commensurate with knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
