The Vice President of Marketing will lead growth through performance marketing, brand development, and strategic insights at Gravie, overseeing campaigns and fostering a high-performing team.
Hi, we’re Gravie. Our mission is to create health benefits that actually benefit small and midsize businesses and their employees. Our innovative benefit solutions and services are developed and delivered by a diverse group of unique people. We encourage you to be your authentic self - we like you that way.
A Little More About The role:
We’re looking for a Vice President of Marketing to lead the next stage of growth for an innovative company improving access to high quality health benefits for small and midsize businesses. This leader will build and scale a modern marketing engine that drives measurable growth through performance marketing, shapes a distinctive brand, delivers actionable customer insights, and brings new products to market with precision and creativity.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, data-driven, and entrepreneurial marketing leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and brings deep expertise in performance marketing along with experience leading a holistic marketing function. You’ll combine strategic thinking with a willingness to roll up your sleeves — building scalable programs, testing and learning quickly, and developing a high-performing team.
You will:
· Define and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to drive lead generation, pipeline growth, and customer acquisition across the small and midsize employer market.
· Own the full marketing budget and lead annual and quarterly operating planning, ensuring resources are allocated to the highest-impact initiatives and align with company growth targets.
· Build and scale performance marketing programs across digital, social, SEO/SEM, and lifecycle channels with a focus on efficiency, experimentation, and ROI.
· Create clear measurement and attribution frameworks to evaluate channel performance, inform spend allocation, and improve cost-effectiveness over time.
· Develop and evolve a differentiated brand narrative that reflects the company’s mission to simplify and modernize health plan solutions for SMBs.
· Lead integrated marketing campaigns and thought leadership initiatives that increase visibility with brokers, employers and members.
· Enhance a customer insights capability that transforms data and research into actionable strategies to inform product, pricing, and positioning decisions.
· Partner closely with Product and Sales to craft compelling messaging, positioning, and go-to-market plans that accelerate adoption of new offerings.
· Oversee all external communications, including PR, media relations, and thought leadership, to strengthen the company’s credibility and visibility in the market.
· Build a marketing organization that blends analytical rigor, creative storytelling, and operational excellence — balancing in-house talent with agency and contractor support.
· Foster a culture of agility, innovation, and accountability, that incorporates AI and success is measured by impact.
· Serve as a key member of the Revenue leadership team, collaborating cross-functionally to shape GTM strategy and ensure marketing is tightly aligned with business objectives.
You bring:
· 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role at a high-growth or startup environment
· Proven track record of building and scaling performance marketing programs that drive measurable growth
· Strong foundation in go-to-market execution with particular expertise in building a performance marketing function
· Experience in healthcare, health insurance, benefits or related industries required
· Deep analytical skills and comfort with marketing automation, CRM, and analytics tools
· Ability to thrive in ambiguity, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution
· Exceptional leadership, communication and team-building skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
