The VP, Distinguished Engineer is a senior executive-level technical leadership role that represents the pinnacle of technical expertise and strategic innovation within the organization. This position combines deep technical knowledge, visionary thinking, and the ability to drive transformative technological strategies across the entire enterprise.

Strategic Technical Leadership 

  • Provide comprehensive technical vision and strategic guidance at the highest levels of the Village 
  • Identify and champion emerging technologies that can create significant competitive advantages 
  • Develop long-term technology roadmaps that align with overall business objectives 
  • Act as a chief technical advisor to senior leadership, including the CTO, CIO, and IT Core Team 

Innovation and Research 

  • Lead breakthrough innovation initiatives that push the boundaries of the Village's technological capabilities 
  • Conduct advanced research and development across multiple technology domains 
  • Develop and nurture a culture of technical innovation and continuous learning 
  • Establish and lead cross-functional innovation labs and research programs 

Technical Architecture and Direction 

  • Define and influence overarching technical architecture and technology strategy 
  • Provide expert-level guidance on complex technical challenges and architectural decisions 
  • Design and validate advanced technical solutions that address critical business needs 
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, platforms, and architectural approaches 

Thought Leadership 

  • Represent the Village at major industry conferences, technical symposiums, and academic forums 
  • Publish significant technical papers, research, and thought leadership content 
  • Build and maintain relationships with key technology partners, academic institutions, and industry leaders 

Mentorship and Talent Development 

  • Mentor and develop top technical talent within the Village 
  • Partner with IT PL& S to create and implement technical skill development programs 
  • Provide guidance to senior technical leadership and high-potential technical teammates 
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement

The Salary Range for the role is $236,000.00 - $358,000.00 per year.

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
