The Association for Undergraduate Education at Research Universities (UERU) is an independent national higher education association hosted and supported by CSU. Its purpose is to strengthen undergraduate education at U.S. research universities.
The Undergraduate Education at Research Universities (UERU) Assistant Director will primarily ensure efficient and cost-effective home office operations, professional execution of events and projects, and a positive UERU member experience. They will foster an inclusive and productive working environment for the UERU team.

Essential Job Duties:Supervise UERU staff, including 2 full-time staff, 3-5 part-time student hourly staff, and event- and initiative-specific temporary staff.
Oversee travel arrangements, scheduling, and other pertinent office operations
Serve as staff liaison between UERU and CSU (e.g., with respect to HR, OSP, Office the Provost, and other regular points of connection).
Provide senior managerial staff support for all UERU initiatives and events, including grant-funded projects and the work of the Executive Director and Director of UERU Development and Strategic Partnerships.
Staff the UERU Board and serve ex officio as a non-voting member of its Executive Committee.
Provide staff leadership for the planning of 4-6 major in-person UERU events each year (all of which require onsite participation, often over multiple days).
Understand the UERU budget and collaborate with the Office of the President and Provost Budget Director and UERU Board in managing UERU's finances.

The Assistant Director participates in 4-5 in-person events annually, at least three of which require domestic air travel and irregular hours. Apart from these exceptional undertakings, the position requires standard in-person work on CSU’s campus during regular business hours.
Two full-time administrative professionals: UERU Coordinator - Events, Finance, and Administrative Support; UERU Coordinator - Virtual Events, Communications, and Technology.
Student Employees: 1-2 employees working up to 20 hours/week total
Bachelor's degree.
5 years of professional administrative managerial experience, including supervision of direct reports.
5 or more years of professional administrative managerial experience in U.S. higher education, including specifically working for a research university and/or experience working for an intermediary U.S. higher ed organization.
Master's Degree.
Prior experience executing in-person and virtual events.
Familiarity with organizational budgets and university information and budget systems.
