Legalist is an institutional alternative asset management firm. Founded in 2016 and incubated at Y Combinator, the firm uses data-driven technology to invest in credit assets at scale. We are always looking for talented people to join our team.
We are looking for a Transactions Counsel to own deal documentation across our investment strategies, working with internal colleagues to structure, negotiate, and document new investments.
Responsibilities:
Negotiating and documenting a high volume of investment contracts across our legal assets strategies
Working with investment colleagues to achieve business goals, while managing legal risk.
Ability to multitask and handle many deals simultaneously.
Process orientated and able to evaluate and implement best practices across teams interacting with the legal function.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate and law degrees, active bar admission
5+ years experience of transactional experience; credit and secured transaction experience highly desirable.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality work product.
Practical and commercial, able to prioritize business objectives while achieving legal goals.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Comfort working across functions while being a “team of one.”
Prior sales experience is a strong plus.
