We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Training Manager to lead and evolve training and development activities across Payment Integrity clinical and coding audits. The ideal candidate will bring strong people leadership capability, a proven ability to develop high-performing teams, and experience driving training strategy, operational execution, and learner outcomes.

This role is responsible for establishing clear expectations and accountability, supporting employee growth and development, and ensuring learning initiatives effectively support business goals and operational readiness. The Training Manager will partner across functions to build scalable training solutions, improve performance outcomes, and strengthen organizational capability. The Training Manager will be reporting to our Senior Training Manager.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 (based on experience, skills, and qualifications)
Location: 100% Remote (U.S.-based)

Up to 10% annual travel (for team meetings and limited client onsite engagements.)

A 5-10 minute presentation on who you would approach training, trainers will be required.

Final offers are based on several factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, internal pay equity, work location, market conditions for the role, and the specific scope and responsibilities of the position. The top of the range is reserved for candidates who notably exceed the requirements; the lower end applies to those with less experience or fewer preferred qualifications. For positions based in higher-cost zones (e.g., California, New York, New Jersey), actual compensation may exceed the posted range; your recruiter will share specifics during the process.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of clinical and coding trainers while establishing a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to drive individual and team success
  • Oversee trainer performance, workload prioritization, and execution against business goals, training deliverables, and operational timelines
  • Develop and execute training strategies and programs that support onboarding, speed to proficiency, performance improvement, and long-term capability building
  • Ensure all training programs remain relevant, accurate, and aligned with business needs, client expectations, and operational priorities
  • Conduct training needs assessments and identify capability gaps across teams
  • Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve training effectiveness through performance metrics, learner feedback, observations, and assessments
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Clinical, Coding, and Leadership teams to align training priorities and drive business outcomes
  • Maintain visibility into training records, reporting, trainee progression, and readiness metrics
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, webinars, and development activities as needed
  • Manage team resources effectively and remove barriers impacting trainer success
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and evolving learning methodologies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Healthcare, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 5+ years in training or learning & development within healthcare (nursing and/or medical coding) 
  • Proven experience leading and developing trainers, including nurses and certified coders 
  • Certification in training or learning & development strongly preferred 
  • Background in nursing, medical coding, or healthcare operations strongly preferred

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong ability to upskill teams and accelerate speed to proficiency through effective training delivery and coaching 
  • Demonstrated success improving training outcomes, performance, and quality through targeted development strategies 
  • Ability to assess skill gaps and implement focused development plans for trainers and learners 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and drive accountability across training teams 
  • Data-driven approach to evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve results 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across operations, quality, and leadership 
  • Ability to translate complex clinical and coding concepts into clear, practical training 
  • Experience in one of the following: Outpatient, DRG or CVA auditing, preferred but not required
