This position is highly collaborative, involving partner teams throughout VDDV, Vehicle Performance, Validation, SMT's and VMEC. This is an emerging technology and constant innovation key to success.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Spearhead full-vehicle co-simulation integration for ICE, HEV, and BEV models using GT-Suite, MATLAB/Simulink, AMESIM, CarSim, and CarMaker.
- Develop cross-functional packages incorporating Battery, Driveline, Vehicle Dynamics, Thermal Systems, Electric Drive Unit, and Driver models with software and calibration.
- Conduct virtual simulations for cooling systems (powertrain, HVAC, battery, e-motor, power electronics) and validated thermal protection strategies.
- Lead energy consumption simulations and implemented controls to meet performance targets and EPA fuel economy cycles.
- Deliver 1D and thermal control simulations tailored to program-specific functional and behavioral objectives.
- Enable Virtual Buy-Off Ride assessments (65%, 80%, 99%) and led issue resolution by mobilizing simulation partners.
- Verify CFD and 1D model accuracy using geometry from Teamcenter and RTC; utilize STAR-CCM+, FLUENT, SIMERICS, Kuli, AVL-CRUISE, and more.
- Ensure alignment with software calibration milestones and maintained simulation package currency.
- Champion virtual methods for vehicle design, validation, and development across engineering disciplines.
- Identify strategic innovation opportunities and advanced simulation procedures for speed and fidelity.
- Enforce governance standards, documentation, and deployment via Git, SVN, and TFS version control systems.
- Advocate for thermal systems within cross-functional simulation teams.
- Guide vehicle design through scenario analysis and simulation-led recommendations; generated reports for executive leadership.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant degree related to the role
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated experience in Thermal Systems modeling and integrating VECU, software and calibration.
- Ability to characterize thermal systems using 3D tools such as CFD and creating and implementing 1D plant models of the underlying components and subsystems.
- Familiarity with CFD tools such as STAR-CCM+, FLUENT, SIMERICS etc.
- Familiarity with system tools or controls integration CAE tools such as GT-Power, AMESIM, CarSim, CarMaker, MATLAB/SIMULINK.
- Familiarity with simulation data management (SDM) systems like Teamcenter and RTC.
- Familiarity with version control systems (VCS) tools like Git, SVN and TFS.
- Proven ability to work in teams, balancing theory with practical limitations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel 5% of the time domestic to testing facilities
- This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review
