About Docketly
Docketly, a subsidiary of ABC Legal Services, is a technology-driven company focused on streamlining legal operations through automation and AI-powered tooling. Our Projects team builds and maintains the internal systems that keep our operations running, and we’re looking for a technically sharp, reliable specialist to join that team in Longmont, CO.
Job Summary
The Docketly Technology Specialist is a key member of the Projects team, responsible for building, maintaining, and improving the internal automation tools and AI-powered systems that support Docketly’s operations. We are looking for someone who approaches problems with an AI-first mindset, reaches for data before assumptions, and uses automation to eliminate friction before asking engineering to build something new. This role bridges the gap between the Projects/Operations team and Engineering, translating operational needs into technical solutions and ensuring those systems are reliable, well-documented, and continuously improving.
This is an in-office, hands-on role. You will work directly alongside the Projects team and collaborate closely with Engineering on sprint cycles, QA testing, and tooling improvements. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates proactively, and shows up consistently.
What You’ll Do
Automation Tooling & Support
- Manage and maintain internal automation tools, configurations, and integrations
- Monitor tool performance and proactively identify and resolve system issues
- Use data and AI tools to diagnose operational problems, surface patterns, and inform decisions about what to build or improve next
- Serve as a Tier 2 escalation point for the ops team on automation tool behavior and system questions
- Participate in QA testing cycles for automation tool releases, updates, and new feature deployments
Internal Documentation & Enablement
- Develop and maintain clear internal documentation for automation systems, tool configurations, and operational workflows
- Support onboarding of internal team members to new tools and updated system capabilities
- Partner with team members across departments to ensure tools are understood, adopted, and used effectively
Integrations & Automation Development
- Support configuration and maintenance of integrations between internal systems, AI tooling, and third-party APIs
- Collaborate with Engineering to scope, test, and deploy integration improvements and new automation features
- Identify, scope, and own automation opportunities that reduce manual operational effort across the team
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a point of contact between the Projects team and Engineering on automation and tooling initiatives
- Contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and roadmap discussions
- Translate operational pain points into clear, actionable technical requirements for the Engineering team
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 2–4 years of experience in a technical operations, automation, or systems specialist role
- Hands-on experience designing or improving automation workflows to reduce manual operational effort
- Working knowledge of SQL; comfortable querying data to answer operational questions and support decision-making
- An AI-first problem-solving approach; you actively use AI tools to research, prototype, and improve your work rather than treating them as optional
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication; you document your work and keep the team informed
- Proficiency with project tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and basic API concepts
- Dependable and accountable; you show up, follow through, and communicate proactively when things change
Preferred
- Experience working alongside engineering teams in a non-developer capacity (technical bridge role)
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, AI workflow design, or building automation with AI/LLM APIs
- Exposure to REST APIs or lightweight scripting to support automation tasks
- Experience writing or maintaining technical documentation for internal teams
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Operations, or a related field
