The Technical Training Standards Manager will develop and manage standardized technical training programs for Serverfarm's global data center operations teams. This role creates the framework, content requirements, and standards for training that will be executed by third-party providers. You'll collaborate with operations experts, design teams, and vendors to create comprehensive training curricula that align with both current operational needs and future growth plans.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design standardized technical training curricula for data center operations staff at all experience levels
  • Identify training gaps and develop content specifications to fill those gaps
  • Source and manage third-party vendors for training content development and delivery
  • Create clear training standards that can be implemented across global locations
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure training programs complement existing initiatives without duplication
  • Work with design and technical teams to incorporate training needs for new data center facilities
  • Develop and maintain a syllabus library and training content repository
  • Create RFPs/RFQs for vendor selection and evaluate responses
  • Monitor training effectiveness through performance metrics and feedback

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field, education, or equivalent experience (military technical training experience is ideal)
  • Experience in facilities management, data center operations, or similar technical environments is strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in technical training development or curriculum design
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems concepts sufficient to effectively communicate with SMEs and translate technical requirements into training content
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear training materials
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage vendor relationships
  • Excellent communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders

  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to facility operations
  • Technical/vocational training methodologies
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
