Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years architecting, implementing, selling, and/or marketing virtualization and hypervisor solutions as a hands-on SME.
  • Strong, recent, hands-on technical expertise across both VMware (vSphere/vSAN/VCF) and Nutanix (AHV/Prism). This role requires genuine fluency in both platforms — not deep expertise in one and passing familiarity with the other. Currency matters; this is a fast-moving space.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead technical conversations with both engineers and executives.
  • Strong organizational, writing, and editing skills.
  • Practical working knowledge of modern AI tools — including Claude, which our team leverages heavily — and a demonstrated interest in using them to work more effectively.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and alignment with WWT's culture and core values.
  • Relevant vendor certifications (VMware VCP/VCAP, Nutanix NCP/NCM) or plan to immediately attain required.
  • Ability for overnight travel (25%–50%).
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Why should you join this team?

Our team is at the center of one of the most active shifts in enterprise infrastructure. As customers evaluate and evolve their platform strategy, this position plays a critical role in defining and building the go-to-market solutions that guide those decisions — as well as enabling and supporting our at-large field sales organization. Much of this work is delivered in close partnership with Softchoice as a co-selling motion. We operate in a dynamic environment where innovation, honest technical analysis, and collaboration are encouraged. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified and passionate team player looking to make a real impact.

What will you be doing?

Technical Solutions Architects at WWT are high-functioning subject-matter experts who transform the market with innovative solutions that amplify customer value and WWT profitability. This is a pre-sales role centered on customer-facing workshops, briefings, and technical advisory across our virtualization portfolio.

What makes this seat distinct: you'll operate across both our VMware and Nutanix initiatives, floating to where customer demand is greatest. Our customers' virtualization strategies vary widely, and this role calls for someone equally credible advising across both platforms — meeting each customer wherever their environment and goals sit. Both are areas of active investment and growth for our team, and genuine flexibility between them is the heart of this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical pre-sales support to field sales teams across both VMware and Nutanix opportunities — winning new logos and growing existing relationships.
  • Lead customer-facing workshops, executive briefings, and technical advisory engagements on virtualization architecture and platform strategy.
  • Serve as a credible SME across our full virtualization portfolio, adapting to each customer's environment and objectives.
  • Build and maintain technical marketing and proof-of-work collateral — reference architectures, solution briefings, and thought leadership — for field teams and customers.
  • Collaborate with the larger GS&A team, professional services, regional sellers and architects, and sales leadership to advance the virtualization solution portfolio and go-to-market strategy.
  • Partner with Softchoice on joint co-selling motions.
  • Train WWT staff and strategic partners on our ability to market, sell, and deliver virtualization architectures.
  • Achieve and maintain certification requirements to sustain partner status and specializations.
