Role and Responsibilities

If you have ambitions to be a part of a Best in Class organization, Samsung’s Wireless Networks team is the place to be. The role of the Wireless Networks Team is to support our mobile service provider customers through Samsung’s market-leading technology and services portfolio. The dynamic culture at Samsung offers both great challenge and great reward. If you want to work among the very best talent in the industry, working on the most innovative products in the world, Samsung is the home for you.

The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for driving Samsung’s network products and solutions for the customer network account.  This is a direct customer-facing sales role specifically for 4G and 5G telecom products, and you will be instrumental in supporting and responding to technical requests from our customer. In partnership with the account sales lead, you will work to identify technical needs and define solutions that can be developed and positioned to drive sales revenue targets. You will be relied upon to provide support for Samsung 4G and 5G technologies consisting of radio access network (RAN), core network, network management tools, and professional services. This encompasses pre-sales, quote creation, and post-sales support (to ensure what was promised was delivered).

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with commercial and technical sales leads in support of pre and post-sales activities in order to achieve the assigned sales goals and business objectives.
  • Conduct deep-dive customer product and technology sessions, including new technology introductions associated with 4G/5G RAN, core, and network management features as well as professional services.
  • Develop deep relationships with broad set of customer contacts from working level up to CTO.
  • Establish and maintain trust and rapport as SME for technical network solutions.
  • Work with sales and engineering counterparts in the US and Korea to define scope of work, level of effort, and target timeline and generate new customer proposals.
  • Act as voice of customer with internal engineering teams to ensure high customer satisfaction for Samsung during new hardware and software rollouts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field preferred.
  • 10+ total years of experience within the wireless industry with a focus on mobile infrastructure required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role required.
  • Must possess the ability to analyze, interpret, develop, and present technical information and materials to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of technology trends in RAN – virtual/cloud-native architectures, Open RAN, AI enhancements for RAN – is a major plus.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to thrive in a highly dynamic cross-functional environment and navigate complex customer personalities – interpersonal skills to navigate an organization and manage-via-influence are just as critical as technical ability.

Necessary skills and attributes

  • Plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects, sales and simultaneous performance objectives.
  • Work independently in determining one’s personal schedule to be productive.
  • Work in a team environment, in order to achieve personal and team project milestones and to complete assignments within established time frames.
  • Accept tasks and problems/situations that differ, requiring creativity to search for optimal solutions, when only broad and general guidelines exist for solving problems.
  • Utilize implied knowledge of task alternatives and to make spontaneous decisions using past experience and the guidance and/or successful experiences of others.
  • Interact at multiple levels within customer organizations.
  • Negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer directors, managers and staff with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations.
  • Make professional technical sales presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience.
  • Achieve results within established time frames and requirements.
  • Develop accurate proposals and designs to meet customer needs.
