Ibotta is looking for a Technical Manager, Analytics Engineering to join our fast growing team! This role will build and lead a team of data engineers, oversee critical partner facing data, and help scale data & analytics products for internal and external partners. This team is central to delivering and maintaining our modern data, analytics, and decisioning platform across Ibotta. The ideal candidate will have curiosity, experience building and maintaining productionized data assets, the desire to serve as a leader across the department, and willingness to jump in and work side by side with your team to unblock and support as needed. You will also be responsible for working closely with cross-functional leaders to define and execute on your team roadmaps.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado, as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.
What you’ll be doing:

Work with cross functional leadership to understand business needs and prioritize the most impactful projects to drive business decisions and strategic outcomes
Build and retain a team of highly motivated analytics engineers.
Constantly speak to stakeholders about prioritization of key projects, rigorously revisit priorities, and confidently represent the effort required to deliver on initiatives
Establish automated processes to scale data usage across Ibotta, and treat our data assets as software that continuously evolves and improves to meet business needs
Serve as a leader across the department, bringing data, analytics, operational and culture building best practices to the organization
Support the engineering of distributed systems, frameworks, and design patterns enabling efficient usage of Ibotta's data platform
Support the team in identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater reliability and performance
Evangelize engineering best practices and supporting capabilities with Analytics and Leadership teams, help cultivate a strong engineering mindset in Ibotta’s Analytics organization
What we’re looking for:
5+ years of experience in building/implementing data pipelines using Databricks or other cloud-based data processing platforms
2+ years of management experience with experience working directly with senior leadership
Experience hiring, leading, developing, and retaining talent
Proven written and verbal communication skills, able to distill complex analytical requirements into actionable units of work
Curiosity and the commitment to continually ask questions of our data and business
Passion for well-architected software and strong engineering principles
Excels in a fast-paced environment with the capability to prioritize effectively
Preferred experience with event-driven architecture design patterns and practices
Experience in database design principles supported by strong SQL abilities
Experience building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, and metadata
Experience with some or all of the following:
End-to-end analytics automation, data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and tools (AWS Glue, DBT, Airflow, etc.)
Databricks or other cloud-based data processing platforms
AWS Cloud Services; EC2, S3
Apache Spark and its supported languages Python, SQL, or Scala
Open table format Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, or Apache Hudi
Github, GitLab, or other version control & CI/CD platform
Jira or other project management platform
Agile (Kanban or Scrum) development experience

Additional Details:
This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, profit sharing and equity.
Base compensation range: $124,000 - $144,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
