How You Will Contribute:

Reporting to Director, Solutions Architecture, as Technical Sales Lead (“TSL”) you will be responsible for actively driving and managing our customer’s technology evaluation along with the Sales Leader, Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, and Customer Success Executive. You will be articulating technology and product positioning to both business and technical users along with identifying technical issues during the sales process. You will establish and maintain strong customer relationships during and after the sales cycle.

  • Present Blue Planet products and solutions to potential customers.
  • Occasionally demonstrate products at meetings and conferences.
  • Manage RFI / RFP responses.
  • Manage product evaluations and Proof of Concept (PoC) success.
  • Support license proposal sizing and pricing.
  • Own services pricing and Statement of Work (SOW) generation including management of proposal reviews.
  • Be the customer technical resource for questions, including technical escalations to product support and services delivery teams.

The Must Haves:

  • Minimum 8 years in a senior presales or project delivery role within the telecommunications Operations Support Systems (“OSS”) industry
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in telecommunication technologies used in wireline networks, wireless networks, and data center infrastructure.
  • Direct experience in the sale or delivery of at least one of the following OSS platforms:
    • Network Orchestration (e.g. service activation)
    • Order Orchestration (e.g. service order management)
    • Network and Service Assurance (e.g. fault management)
    • Network and Service Inventory (e.g. planning, design, and assign)
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communications skills including experience supporting the scoping, managing, and executing customer product evaluations
  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet a business requirement with a technical solution, even in stressful customer situations
  • Ability to travel domestically, sometimes on short notice

Assets:

  • Located within commuting distance of Philadelphia, PA
  • Knowledge of one or more Tier 1 communications companies
  • Understanding of the telecommunications OSS ecosystem
  • Knowledge of one or more OSS provider’s product (e.g. Amdocs, Netcracker)
  • Experience creating Solution Requirements for an OSS deployment
  • Fluency in one or more languages other than English

Pay Range:

 The annual pay range for this position is $146,800 - $234,400. 

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
