Title:  Technical Project Manager III, Customer Implementation

The TPM III is a member of the Service Delivery Customer Implementation team and will assist in the installation of Customer infrastructure within EdgeConneX Data Centers. This position has a hybrid work schedule and requires regular travel. The TPM III reports to Regional Manager, Service Delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead in the installation of Customer infrastructure into ECX sites on time and meeting Customer-defined scope.
  • Lead in the delivery of ECX and Customer products including cabinets, cabinet infrastructure, Meet-Me-Room, structured cabling, cross connect, outside and inside plant builds to meet Customer needs.
  • Lead in the review of Customer infrastructure build requirements and assist in the creation of quoting of build costs.
  • Lead in the communication of project deliverables with internal EdgeConneX teams in addition to communicating with end Customers on project status.
  • Serve as team Lead in ensuring onsite safety protocols are followed, onsite EdgeConneX standards are followed, and general safety practices are adhered to during build of Customer infrastructure within EdgeConneX facilities.
  • Lead efforts in management and reporting of Meet Me Room inventory and availability at assigned locations.
  • Strong ability to understand Customer deliverables and interpreting into site specific power, space, and network connectivity (fiber and copper) needs within EdgeConnex facilities located across the U.S and globally as assigned.
  • Lead with oversight of general contractor and sub-contractor selection, project specific management, creation of and management of schedules and onsite build completion of Customer needs.
  • Update all appropriate EdgeConneX systems: CSI, EdgeOS, Rio, Sugar, etc.
  • Assist in other projects as assigned by Manager.
  • Ability to assist with multiple projects from beginning to end.
  • Ability to travel to sites as required (approximately 60%).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Passionate self-starter who puts the hours needed and readily rolls up sleeves to do what needs to be done.
  • Ability and willingness to make recommendations on Customer specific needs in addition to site specific build necessities to support both Customer and EdgeConneX specific needs.
  • Strong communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure.
  • Work habits must stay organized, independently manage priorities and scheduling, and efficiently work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong awareness of responsibilities and sense of accountability to projects and Customers.
  • Dedicated and effective team player with the ability to perform the tasks required to get the job done. Understanding the contractor scope of work and be ready to lend a hand.
  • Ability and willingness to take direction and to implement with minimal direction from leadership.  Is hard working, disciplined, and consistently delivers required results.
  • Ability and willingness to independently and effectively deliver Customer projects of small to large scope across assigned areas.
  • Work habits reflect comfort with ambiguity and agility when goals or situations change.
  • Start to serve in mentor role to junior team members. 
  • Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables.

Experience/Education

  • 5+ years of experience with construction, able to read drawings and understand construction tools.
  • 5+ year of experience in working with build of facility cabinets, infrastructure, copper and fiber distribution, power assignments to Customer cabinets and overall basic understanding of data center builds.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, Technical School degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Candidates with field experience and background in construction installation of IT, telecom, data center assets, fiber optics, networking, and gear installation are strongly encouraged to apply.
