Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for keeping the lines running efficiently and ensuring that the needs of Cradles Team Members are met to produce a quality product on time, the first time with no personal injuries or mechanical accident and supporting the policies and procedures of Kamtek, Inc.  The Cradles Team Leader is also responsible for providing leadership to Production Team Members while promoting the Employee’s Charter and Operational Principles.


1)    Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies. 
2)    Follows and supports and Magna’s operating principles, including:
a.    Magna Employee Charter – Operating under its principles by treating all team members equally, fairly and with dignity and respect.
b.    Abide by Kamtek policies and procedures as described in the most current version of the Employee Handbook.
c.    Open Door Policy – Solves issues with two-way, open and friendly communication.
d.    5S – Maintains and promotes good housekeeping by following the philosophy “Everything has a place. Everything in its place”.
e.    Safety First - Obey the plant’s safety rules and procedures by wearing PPE at all times and immediately addressing all safety concerns.  Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard.
f.    Promote MAFACT benchmarks to achieve World Class Manufacturing.
g.    Core values – Treat all team members equally, fairly, with dignity and respect without favoritism in accordance with company values. 
h.    Attend and participate in Team, Department, Plant-wide and any other meetings as required. 
i.    Conduct all activities in a professional manner and positive attitude with an emphasis on personal responsibility. 
3)    Ensure daily Pre-Shift inspections and frequency checks are completed accurately and conduct planned inspection audits on each shift.
4)    Follow, comply and enforce all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs (Magna and OSHA Standards).  
5)    Conduct Pre-Shift meetings with the team to communicate safety and/or quality issues and production targets.
6)    Fills in for Team Members that need to temporarily leave the line (emergency, bathroom break, etc.)
7)    Complete all necessary documentation including hourly data collection with downtime reasons and daily performance graphing.
8)    Ensure that all operation documentation is up to date.
9)    Operate production equipment as needed to cover for missing team members and/or to facilitate improved production start-ups.
10)    Routinely make visual inspections of emergency evacuation routes correcting any safety concerns immediately.
11)    Conduct daily safety talks in pre-shift meetings and ensure team members sign safety training roster.
12)    Coordinate and assign job responsibility for team members on a daily basis.
13)    Maintain open communication and provide continued support to other departments regarding any changes, problems, or special projects. Encourages open communications; confronts difficult situations; maintains objectivity; keeps emotions under control; uses negotiation skills to resolve conflicts.
14)    Provide feedback and recommendations to the supervisor regarding team member performance and training needs. 
15)    Achieve first time quality and efficiency to meet production requirements.
16)    Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
17)    Immediately attend to all accidents and injuries. Assist the supervisor with the completion of the accident and injury investigation program (within 24 hours), while following up to ensure procedure implementation and completion.
18)    Support company and customer quality systems, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing process and creativity/innovation. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
19)    Follow and comply with all operational procedures and policies
20)    Initiate and administer corrective actions as required.
21)    Ensure that all checking tools are in good working order and are calibrated.
22)    Support Kamtek Leadership to ensure consistent communication of the Magna/Kamtek vision. Fosters team cooperation; supports group problem solving; ensures progress toward goals; acknowledges team accomplishments.
23)    Monitor and maintain good housekeeping following 5S standards and participate in 5S walks with leadership.
24)    Support the continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Productivity 
25)    Develop and facilitate on-the-job team member training -encourages training and development.
26)    Provides performance coaching to team - motivates for increased results; recognizes contributions. 
27)    Help coordinate engineering changes.
28)    Perform other duties as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Some of the physical demands of this position include the ability to lift 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods of time, and occasional bending or stooping.

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED

Some of the equipment and tools used are a computer, 2-way radio, departmental
hand tools, copier/printer, and personal protective equipment.

KNOWLEDGE

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or GED required

TECHNICAL TRAINING:  Weld training preferred

OTHER:  Experience with basic Microsoft Word and Excel
