TAX SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION
The Tax Supervisor reports to the Tax Manager/Senior Manager and is responsible for organizing and managing client engagements and projects. The person in this role is expected to develop professionally within Gelt and be ready to take on the role of Tax Manager within 1 year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Identify, communicate and resolve engagement issues in a timely and organized manner
-Supervise, train and mentor junior tax colleagues
-Prepare complex Individual, Partnership, and Corporate tax returns
-Review individual and business tax returns
-Assist with tax planning
-Participate in administrative projects such as the annual revision of checklists and engagement letters
-Manage client relationships professionally and courteously
RequirementsREQUIREMENTS:
-Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting/Tax
-Active CPA or EA
-Strong analytical, technical and communication skills
-Ability to balance multiple priorities and complete assignments by deadlines
-Pivot quickly and adapt to changing client and business dynamics
-4+ years of current or recent public accounting tax experience
-Must have client facing experience
-Experience as an Acting Tax Manager is a significant advantage
-Experience with High-Net-Worth Individual, Partnership, and Corporate tax returns
-Comfortable with tax software such as CCH Axcess
