Director of Tax - Lead Global Tax Strategy and Financial Reporting

Step into a high-impact leadership role where you will shape the global tax strategy for an innovative, publicly traded technology leader. Trimble is looking for a strategic financial expert to guide our global provision, compliance, and M&A activities in an environment that celebrates growth and collaboration.

What Makes This Role Great

You will serve as a key financial leader, directly influencing Trimble's global tax strategy, guiding the U.S. Tax Operations team, and driving critical decision-making across complex domestic and international M&A transactions.

Key Exciting Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end quarterly and annual global income tax provision process (ASC 740).

  • Lead tax financial reporting, including SEC disclosures, earnings release, audit committee package.

  • Provide forecasts and guidance with respect to future effective tax rates and cash taxes.

  • Lead all aspects of U.S. federal and state compliance (including, but not limited to reviewing workpapers, extensions, quarterly estimates, tax payments, and tax forms).

  • Manage filing requirements of acquired domestic companies.

  • Lead U.S. federal, state and local notices and audits.

  • Manage tax OBS/PPA entries for the company’s acquisitions, including measurement period adjustments.

  • Manage tax gain/loss calculations, held-for-sale, and discontinued operations disclosures relating to divestitures.

  • Assist with U.S. M&A activities including tax due diligence, deal structure, and post-acquisition integration.

  • Identify, research, and draft memos on a wide range of technical tax issues

  • Assist with various other ad hoc projects as needed.

  • Manage U.S. Tax Operations team.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with 12+ years of combined experience in a major public accounting firm and the technology industry.

  • Extensive expertise in ASC 740, US GAAP, and fundamental US tax principles, including international, state, and local tax.

  • Proven leadership and management experience with the ability to guide technical teams and communicate complex tax issues across all organizational levels.

  • Solid understanding of fundamental US tax principles, including US international, State & Local, and M&A.

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented and organized and be able to multi-task and work independently.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels within the organization.

  • CPA - Certified Public Accountant License.

Bonus Points For

  • Master’s degree in Taxation.

  • Experience with AI applications in corporate tax functions.

Compensation:  Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.

$160,900.00–$221,300.00
