Position Summary

Credence has an immediate need for a Systems Integration Engineer B-52 (WBD) at the senior level who will be primarily responsible for supporting the B-52 Stratofortress Division (AFLCMC WBD) at Tinker AFB, OK.

The B-52 Stratofortress division protects our nation by modernizing and sustaining the B-52 fleet and ensuring continued AF power projection. With a 60-year history as the backbone of the nation’s nuclear deterrence operations, the current fleet of 76 B-52H aircraft is capable of deploying the widest array of weapons in the U.S. inventory and supports multiple combatant command operations.  This division provides world-class expertise and technical services, ensuring the operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness of war-winning capabilities. It also maintains the airworthiness of the B-52 Stratofortress throughout its projected service life, which extends to 2050.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below:

  • Independently perform systems engineering analysis across aeronautical systems, capability planning, and materiel solution development for existing fighter/bomber programs and future programs, including Next Generation Bomber and 2030 Air Dominance efforts.
  • Bridge warfighter-identified capability requirements to acquisition planning by researching program information, providing systems engineering insight, conducting analyses, and preparing briefings.
  • Manage interfaces and processes across development planning, technology, intelligence, acquisition, sustainment, and user communities.
  • Support requirements definition, doctrine alignment, technology integration, intelligence integration, sustainment strategy development, and horizontally integrated acquisition, sustainment, and investment strategies.
  • Develop and assess architecture-based capability requirements and option sets to ensure interoperability and integration across platforms, programs, phases, and enterprises.
  • Support the development of cross-cutting capability strategies and assist with initiating, writing, reviewing, and implementing acquisition, engineering, test, and life-cycle documentation, including TEMPs, SEPs, RFPs, SOOs, test plans, LCMPs, LCSPs, and Pre-MS A/Pre-MS B documentation.
  • Identify, assess, and analyze future capability solution sets in support of program reviews, Integrated Baseline Reviews, and systems engineering initiatives related to commercial item acquisition, NDI, COTS, FAA-certified items, and performance-based business practices.
  • Assist in managing capability and systems engineering studies involving multiple divisions and communicate systems engineering solutions, risk analyses, and future solutions across AFLCMC, MAJCOMs, other enterprises, and the Air Staff.
  • Support program transitions into and out of the F/B Directorate to enhance fielded warfighter capabilities.
  • Support Family of Systems and Systems of Systems engineering, including capability management strategies such as airborne electronic attack and related mission areas.
  • Assist with establishing capability architect functions within each division to support integrated architectures for cross-enterprise comparison, analysis, and integration.
  • Support technology process development and administration, including applied technology councils, Small Business Innovative Research initiatives, and related proposal identification and assessment activities.
  • Review planning documents, including MNS, ORD, ICD, CDD, and CPD materials, for realistic industrial base execution and promote modeling, simulation, and analysis throughout the acquisition life cycle.
  • Support intelligence information and infrastructure integration to enable cross-enterprise capability planning and system acquisition.
  • Coordinate large and small group briefings, document discussion records, support senior functional lead collaboration, manage higher headquarters and internal tasks, and assist with reporting, baseline management, schedule management, business process integration, and special projects.
  • Apply system integration engineering expertise to coordinate technical components and program elements and ensure they function together as an integrated system.
  • Review and evaluate military airworthiness certification documentation, coordinate engineering discipline consensus, and provide detailed airworthiness status to engineering management.
  • Analyze DoD and USAF airworthiness certification, systems engineering, and sustainment policies and processes against accepted industry and military standards; identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate engineering reviews and evaluations for test planning, including First Article Test-like activities, and provide test activity status to engineering management.
  • Support engineering activities including FCA/PCA, aircraft and simulator certifications, technical evaluation of contractor efforts, environmental and hazardous material management, system safety, risk management, deficiency report resolution, mission planning system integration, and geospatial data updates.
  • Apply system integration engineering analyses to support SEP development, OSS&E baseline development, and planning for sustainment engineering support.
  • Manage and resolve technical projects, risks, mitigation plans, and root cause investigations with federal agencies, weapon system contractors, industry partners, and program stakeholders.
  • Apply engineering principles, criteria, and procedures to USAF and FMS systems, subsystems, equipment procurement activities, post-award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout the life cycle.

Requirements
  • Must have an active or current Secret security clearance (or higher), verifiable in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Must have a Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD;
  • OR must have an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in a related field and fifteen (15) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD;
  • Senior level requires a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience and an accreditation, such as ABET, bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Must be able to work independently on high-visibility or mission-critical program efforts and oversee fewer senior staff or all staff assigned to a specific job.
  • Must have experience applying common engineering and scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future USAF, FMS, and joint service weapon systems.
  • Must have experience supporting acquisition program management across full life-cycle requirements, subsystems, and equipment.
  • Must understand and be able to apply MIL-HDBK-516 Airworthiness Certification Criteria to aircraft systems and subsystems.
  • Must have experience translating user requirements into weapon system and system-level requirements used to design, develop, fabricate, test, evaluate, field, and deploy systems, subsystems, and equipment.
  • Must have experience performing technical and mission analyses of existing and future operational requirements, developing system concepts, and conducting technology and trade-off assessments for proposed designs or modifications.
  • Must have experience providing rapid response engineering support, including problem identification, impact assessment, and corrective development for critical supportability issues.
  • Must have experience supporting system safety engineering programs, mishap risk assessments, weapon system contractor safety proposal evaluations, safety analyses, and high-priority safety issue resolution.
  • Must have experience supporting materiel solution analyses, design reviews, draft documentation, and presentation materials within cost, schedule, and performance constraints.
  • Must have experience producing or reviewing technical evaluations, engineering studies, reports, analyses, acquisition strategies, SOOs, PWSs, SOWs, RFPs, AOAs, MOAs/MOUs, ICDs, ORDs/CDDs, CONOPS, CPDs, SRDs, system specifications, SEPs, TEMPs, PESHE, ISPs, PPPs, TA/CPs, IAS, SCGs, test and evaluation plans, CCA compliance materials, data strategies, survivability assessments, spectrum supportability determinations, technical data rights strategies, readiness assessments, hazard analyses, airworthiness inputs, and other program or technical documents.
  • Must have experience developing and collecting technical data and inputs for eSSS packages and executive briefings to support coordination and signature of milestone approval documents.
  • Must have experience supporting project team meetings, working groups, and reviews, including SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, TCMs, TIMs, FCAs, PCAs, PRRs, PMRs, risk management meetings, and project management meetings.
  • Must have experience analyzing equipment and software deficiencies, recommending corrective actions, and developing, integrating, and testing deficiency solutions.
  • Must have experience evaluating prime weapon system contractors and subcontractor recommendations related to operational and support issues, including ACSNs, ECPs, CCPs, FAA Bulletins, modification proposals, DMSMS, program risk, and related documents.
  • Must have experience supporting IMP, IMS, Systems Engineering Detail Schedule, and engineering cost estimate development and evaluation.
  • Must be able to perform in a non-voting advisory role for program source selections on acquisition engineering requirements, as required.
  • Must have experience supporting Life Cycle Systems Engineering and OSS&E compliance, including establishing and adhering to related processes, reviewing and updating OSS&E baseline documents, tracking OSS&E metrics, and identifying SEP implementation gaps.
  • Must have experience supporting aircraft structural integrity programs, maintaining Critical Safety Item lists, monitoring airworthiness certification, and participating in process improvement activities as members of or advisors to IPTs and PIWGs.
  • Must have experience supporting the research, development, testing, acquisition, fielding, sustainment, and modernization of existing and advanced war-winning capabilities for U.S. and coalition partners.
