Standard Job Description

Space connects technology, security and humanity. Where others see a destination, we see possibilities to innovate, invest, inspire and integrate our capabilities to transform the future. Help shape a new era in space with a career built for you.

GPS provides Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) signals to all major U.S. military assets, global financial markets, transportation systems, utilities, agriculture, construction and individuals worldwide. GPS IIIF space vehicles (SVs) will improve accuracy and significantly enhance anti-jam capabilities to prevent denial of GPS PNT access to U.S. and allied forces in hostile environments.

We seek a Systems Engineering Associate Manager to lead GPS IIIF Software and Data Integration (SW&DI). In this first-level management role, you will lead a small, multidisciplinary engineering team and report directly to the Space Segment Enterprise Integration Manager within the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) IPT.

As SW&DI Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a diverse set of engineers producing the database products used by Control/Ground Segments, and multiple FSW products responsible for bus and payload operations
  • Drive development and product release plans that meet the schedule and technical needs
  • Operate in a FFP contract environment, to include managing cost constraints
  • Oversee the sustainment of a multi-node classified network and associated infrastructure that maintains classified program documentation and requirements, supports ATLO test data retention/access, etc.
  • Maintain a HW/SW Simulator serving as a test platform for FSW development and program risk-reduction activities
  • Oversee Integrity and Continuity Engineering (ICE) efforts that support the resiliency of our GPS mission and signals
  • Perform First Level Manager responsibilities including employee performance management, career development and talent growth, mentoring, and staffing
  • Interface with CAM, Finance, and Program Planners to assist with budget forecast and management, report on task completion and status, etc.
  • Represent SW&DI in Special Studies and ROM/RFPs that provide opportunities for additional contract efforts
  • Collaborate and partner across central/internal organizations that provide resources for execution
  • Act as a representative for LM and SEIT directly to our Government Customers and Government SETAs
  • Participate in processes/boards like Risk Boards and the Software Configuration Control Board (SCCB)
  • Support the transition from a development-focused to production-focused organization, implementing knowledge continuity, evaluating opportunities for technical efficiencies, refining processes, and using new platforms for data and information.
