Systems Engineer

The Opportunity:

• Support the sustainment, reliability, maintainability, and availability for the Satellite Control Network (SCN).
• Support communication systems that link satellite operations centers with worldwide remote satellite tracking stations.
• Support commercial satellite manufacturers to test satellite communications compatibility with the SCN.

Responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, perform a variety of specific engineering tasks of an analysis, design, or test nature.
• Help to develop and maintain an active Obsolescence program, supporting SCN sustainment.
• Perform obsolescence analysis activities on system configuration items (CI) in support of overall SCN system sustainment.
• Write Engineering Analysis with recommendations to the Government.

Qualifications:
Required:

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, math or equivalent.
• Zero to three years of related experience with:
• Requirements management and functional analysis.
• Using analysis tools (MS Excel entry and graphing).
• Working with engineering/project teams.

Desired:

• Solid decision making and critical thinking skills.
• Self-motivated and have attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, with a desire to learn new skills.
• Effective professional interpersonal skills. 
• Experience with the following is a plus:
• Obsolescence studies.
• Knowledge of DoD/Air Force or Space Force Systems Engineering concepts and processes.
• Knowledge of DoD/Air Force databases, such as Integrated maintenance Data System (IMDS), Integrated Logistics System-Supply (ILS-S).
• Programming experience in Python.
