Are you excited to play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-wide Operations Support Systems (OSS) applications, along with their operating systems and databases? As a Systems Engineer III at Spectrum, you will manage the Application Administration of OSS applications across all Spectrum Divisions, engaging in the full life cycle of systems engineering activities to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. In this role, you will automate existing processes and develop solutions for new initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve operational reliability. You will design, deploy, and maintain databases that support scalable OSS infrastructure. You will leverage existing APIs to enhance procedural context and enable seamless cross-platform integration across diverse environments. Additionally, you will build process documentation and workflow diagrams to support organizational knowledge sharing and ensure continuity across teams.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Coordinate with internal departments to assess integration capabilities, data sources, and solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionality
  • Conduct design sessions with architects and engineers; create detailed design documents and functional specifications for new applications and services
  • Collaborate on configuration designs for various environments and create work effort estimates for new features and bug fixes for prioritization and release management
  • Develop core code modules, unit test tools, and release notes for enhancements and bug fixes, and review development tools for functionality
  • Install, configure, administer, and provide on-call support for OSS applications, using established change management processes to minimize customer impact
  • Work with database administrators to configure, tune and maintain databases, and document systems configurations, upgrades, and disaster recovery plans
  • Monitor and manage applications, device availability, network conditions, system reliability, performance, service and program maintenance, and storage resources

What You'll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications

Experience
  • 5+ years of application development work experience
  • 4+ years of network OSS application work experience
  • 3+ years of system administration work experience
  • 3+ years of database support and development work experience
  • 3+ years of enterprise application integration work experience

Skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Advanced ability to conduct design sessions to specify solution designs for feasibility, cost, and functionality and create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applications
  • Advanced ability to follow and implement established change and control policies and procedures and troubleshoot application problems
  • In-depth knowledge of development tools, application frameworks, and testing tools, OSS applications and software, and choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring and control of the systems engineering process
  • Ability to effectively transform an operational need into a description of system parameters and incorporate those parameters in the control of the total system development to achieve an optimum, cost-effective balance of all system elements
  • Advanced knowledge of network and systems engineering systems concepts and system/super-system skills, including NetApp Clustered On-TAP, Cisco UCS, and VMWare systems

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity

  • Unix/Linux Administration
  • RAG solutions, vector databases, AI knowledge base architectures
  • Programming Languages: SQL, Java, Python
  • Cross-platform integration across diverse operating systems and environments

Experience
  • Building agentic AI solutions using LLMs, prompt engineering, or orchestration frameworks
  • Developing and implementing automated workflows to reduce manual effort and improve reliability
  • API development and integration (REST, webhooks, or similar)
  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining relational or NoSQL databases
  • Creating organizational process documentation and standard operating procedures
  • MS365 applications including Active Directory, SharePoint, or Power Automate

The base pay for this position generally is between
$78,900.00 and $139,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
