Meet the team:

The Autonomy Performance team, part of the Autonomy Software organization, is a collective of systems and data engineers responsible for championing robust processes to facilitate verification and validation of our robot software. We accomplish this by distilling and maturing requirements from code, maturing software best practices, and building automation to support verification and validation activities. As a Systems Engineer with a Software Engineering focus, your primary directive is to work with our developers to build out a robust set of documentation, processes, and tooling to deliver high-quality safety-critical software.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Arbitrate complex software architectural decisions and build consensus among various stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain high-quality architectural artifacts such as system diagrams, data flow models, sequence diagrams, and design rationales.
  • Capture, mature, and control software requirements in close conjunction with software developers.
  • Champion tooling, templates, and processes that promote clarity and autonomy for developers.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or another related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as JAMA or DOORS.
  • Experience in Python.
  • Experience in C or C++.
  • Experience with Unix or Linux operating systems.
  • (Bonus) Experience with robotic perception, planning, control, and decision-making algorithms.
