CSCI Consulting is looking for a Systems Administrator to support the sustainment and optimization of enterprise IT infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role focuses on system maintenance, patching, performance tuning, and compliance with security and operational standards. The ideal candidate will bring practical experience with Linux/Windows environments, automation, and secure system administration in defense-related or enterprise settings.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain and support operating systems and infrastructure across development and production environments.
Perform system administration tasks including software installation, patching, upgrades, and backups.
Monitor system performance and conduct tuning, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal uptime.
Support cloud-based and hybrid operations, including environments running on AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and/or Azure.
Apply system hardening and compliance measures according to DoD STIGs, RMF, and IAVA guidance.
Automate routine administrative tasks using tools such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
Document system configurations, changes, troubleshooting steps, and administrative procedures.
Collaborate with help desk, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to support secure and compliant infrastructure operations.
Participate in system capacity planning, monitoring, and interface support activities to ensure data integrity and system availability.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
4–6 years of experience in systems administration or enterprise IT support.
IAT/IAM Level I certification (e.g., A+, Network+, or equivalent).
Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows systems in enterprise environments.
Proficiency with system recovery, performance tuning, patching, and configuration management.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or Microsoft Azure.
Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
Active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Experience supporting secure federal or DoD IT environments.
Familiarity with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Oracle VM) and containerization (e.g., Docker).
Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity compliance frameworks including STIGs and RMF.
Experience with automation and scripting using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
Exposure to capacity planning, performance monitoring, and interface support in integrated environments.
