Position summary
As SVP, Advisory Strategy –Access Marketing, you are responsible for guiding our strategy partnerships with our external access marketing clients as well as overseeing the performance and progressive growth of our internal Advisory strategy team. As a key member of our cross-discipline Access Marketing offer, this role seeks a strategy leader who is deeply hands-on, balancing the macro picture with the micro details.
What you'll do:
- Advise, guide, and develop comprehensive market/patient access strategy to support pipeline and inline assets in maximizing and communicating brand value
- Build, manage, and oversee team of subject matter experts on market/patient access strategy; expertise sought includes but is not limited to coverage, coding, and payment across commercial and public payers; pricing and contracting; distributors and specialty pharmacies; field team design and deployment; and patient support services
- Oversee the analysis of qualitative and quantitative research relating to market access stakeholders and derive meaningful insights
- Ensure seamless integration of Access Marketing’s Advisory strategy with Marketing strategy, including advisement on the development of market access stakeholder personas/archetypes, strategy maps, integration into brand plans, positioning, brand identity strategy, creative briefs, and messaging strategy among other critical strategic elements
- Oversee and contribute to the ideation and execution of access marketing solutions, tactics, and activations that amplify brand performance
- Facilitate and lead workshops, training meetings, launch meetings, and other key events on behalf of access marketing clients
- Integrate seamlessly and maintain fluency between Advisory and Marketing disciplines within a matrixed organization
- Grow and contribute to the growth of the access marketing offer by leading Advisory’s strategy for Access Marketing RFPs, identifying organic growth, and proactively identifying new business development opportunities
- Establish the novel Access Marketing Advisory strategy team as department head by building and growing talent, managing the resourcing of Advisory strategy staff across Access Marketing, and mentoring team members especially within an entrepreneurial environment
- Lead collaboratively with account, medical, and creative partners on the delivery of access marketing strategy
- Deliver thought leadership, publish articles, contribute to podcasts, and keep pulse on key market events that would impact market/patient access stakeholder attitudes, behavior, and perceptions
- Build and grow an external network of strategic partners for collaboration and consultation as needed
- Be flexible with travel up to 20-30% of time as needed
About you:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred in related field (public health, public policy, marketing, business administration)
- 15+ years strategic planning or marketing experience, preferably in a market access, payer marketing, or managed markets agency environment
- In-depth experience with leading strategy for market access/patient access/access marketing, including across pre-launch, launch, mature, and portfolio brands
- Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and cross-discipline environment as a working leader with a proactive mindset
- Highly skilled as an interdisciplinary thinker, strategic problem-solver, and focused business leader
- Curious strategist who keeps abreast of everchanging healthcare landscape and encourages clients to challenge the status quo
- Seamlessly skillful in balancing the need for both collaboration and independent work
- Proven track record in building, leading, and inspiring teams as well as upholding the organization’s culture
- Crisp and persuasive communications skills, both written and verbal
- Highly adept at translating technical content into strategy that then informs compelling storytelling and paves the path to brilliant creative
- Comfortable leading and working under pressure with tight deadlines, across both inline client work and pipeline new business development work
- Exceptional and reliable organizational skills
