Position Summary
This position is an experienced SVP, Strategic Finance to lead financial planning, enterprise analytics, and finance transformation for a rapidly evolving mortgage banking platform backed by private equity ownership. This leader will serve as a key strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership team, responsible for building a modern FP&A function that delivers forward-looking insights, scalable financial infrastructure, and improved decision support across the organization. This role will be instrumental in improving financial visibility across the company, strengthening forecasting capabilities, and developing automated reporting and analytics that support executive leadership, operational leaders, and private equity stakeholders.
Compensation
This role is an exempt position with a targeted salary range of $198,455.00 - $297,683.00 annually.
Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.
Essential Functions
- Lead Enterprise FP&A
- Own the company’s financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
- Develop dynamic driver-based forecasting models tied to mortgage banking operational metrics
- Lead scenario analysis around interest rate environments, origination volume, margins, and profitability
- Deliver forward-looking financial insights to executive leadership
- Executive & Board Reporting
- Lead preparation of executive management reporting and board-level financial packages
- Develop clear KPI frameworks that highlight drivers of profitability across the organization
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
- Mortgage Banking Financial Analytics
- Develop deep analytics around mortgage banking economics
- Partner closely with production, capital markets, and servicing leadership to analyze performance drivers
- Finance Transformation & Data Infrastructure
- Modernize the FP&A function through improved processes, automation, and technology
- Overhaul internal financial reporting and analytics infrastructure
- Partner with technology and data teams to improve financial data quality and availability
- Business Partnership
- Act as a financial partner to senior leaders across production, operations, servicing, and corporate functions
- Provide financial insights to support operational decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
- Private Equity & Investor Support
- Support financial analysis and reporting required by private equity ownership
- Develop financial models and analysis supporting strategic initiatives and long-term planning
- Provide transparency around key financial and operational drivers
- Team Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing FP&A and financial analytics team
- Establish best practices for financial planning, reporting, and business intelligence
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related required. Masters Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, preferred.
Minimum 12 years experience in Corporate Finance, FP&A, or Strategic Finance related role(s).
- Minimum five years supervisory or leadership experience.
- Significant experience in mortgage banking, consumer lending, or financial services
- Experience working within private equity-backed or highly performance-driven organizations
- Demonstrated success building or transforming FP&A functions
- Mortgage Industry Knowledge
- Strong understanding of mortgage banking economics including production channel economics, capital markets and secondary marketing dynamics, servicing and MSR economics
- Financial & Analytical Expertise
- Advanced financial modeling and forecasting capabilities
- Experience building driver-based planning models
- Strong experience in executive reporting and board-level financial presentations
- Technology & Data Experience
- Experience working with or implementing financial systems and data tools such as: Business intelligence tools, Data warehouse environments and financial reporting automation
