Mountain Capital Partners (MCP) is seeking ambitious and driven individuals to join our team as Summer Analysts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, learning skills in both the Private Equity/M&A and Business Operations spaces within the outdoor recreation industry.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth financial modeling and analysis to support investment and operational decision-making.

  • Develop valuation models for potential acquisitions, analyses such as NPV and ROI for capital improvement projects, and financial projections for portfolio assets.

  • Develop investment theses for investment and expansion opportunities, supported by research and presentation materials.

  • Work with resort leadership and other MCP teams to analyze budget variances, revenue trends, and cost structures, benchmark against industry and MCP standards, and receive one-on-one mentorship.

M&A / Due Diligence

  • Work with a cross-disciplinary team to conduct due diligence on potential acquisitions, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and possible synergies.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Assist with developing cash flow forecasting models to optimize liquidity and ensure funds are available for operational needs.

Project Management

  • Collaborate with resort project managers to track projects across resorts.

  • Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders to support alignment and successful execution.

Operational Analysis & Strategic Planning

  • Conduct market research and industry analysis and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategic plans and recommendations.

  • Work with resort leaders to make data-driven recommendations and adjustments to strategic plans based on KPIs and market insights.

  • Analyze opportunities to improve mountain operations, food and beverage, and guest services.

  • Contribute to initiatives involving wait-time reduction, process automation, and service quality.

  • Work closely with AI and IT teams to create tools that track resort performance, set pricing goals, and automate financial reporting.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.

  • Shared appreciation for MCP’s Culture and Purpose.

  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and quantitative skills; financial modeling experience preferred.

  • Desire to learn AI systems and/or software development.

  • Comfortable with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Ability to balance multiple responsibilities with strict deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Quick learner with a proactive mindset and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
